Is there a line or just pink background?

I know this has been done I have seen a couple of threads (so I'm so sorry to add another) and I know a pcr is the only way forward but before I do book one should I expect these to be negatives? Dd has been poorly this week on and off she's been sick once, chesty cough, snotty and says she feel really hot but skin is cold. She's also slept more than she normally would, however she has had spurts of running around dressed as either elsa or a Halloween pirate Confused she's done lft for 2 days all clear negatives she did one this morning which was a pink background that never cleared so I did another which looked negative but she was really poorly before bed so just did another which again had that background. I've added the amount of drops the instructions say I've done nothing different. I've kept them to see if the background clears but so far no joy. Anyone had these backgrounds and gone on to have a positive pcr, these are the nose ones and I've yet to get her to to the throat one for the pcr which is going to be a mission in itself.

That's negative to me

Roadtripconcept · 29/10/2021 21:31

I'd test again and if you are putting 4 drops in , make them smaller drops . (Assuming they are Flow Flex 15 minute tests ).

Miracle29 · 29/10/2021 21:51

Thankyou for replying. Yes they are the flowflex ones. I'll test again tomorrow and try smaller drops. I've done one myself just to make sure I haven't got a dodgy pack and mine is a clear negative.

Looks negative but a bit flooded.

Caliexpidocioussuper · 29/10/2021 22:08

So I guess if it was a faint line it wouldn’t show.

DampSquidGames · 29/10/2021 22:08

Looks negative to me.

Maryann1975 · 29/10/2021 22:12

We’ve had a couple Of LFTs like that. No idea why. They were definitely a negative for us though, as we have had several pcrs over the past couple of months that have all been negative.

SaborDeSoledad · 30/10/2021 07:19

I think negative too. Hope your DD feels better soon.

ablutiions · 30/10/2021 07:21

LFT s are for non symptomatic stage. You need a PCR test to get an accurate result

I hope your child feels better soon

Thanks everyone. If I order a pcr does dd need to isoalte? I don't know how the isolation works now it's changed even though she hasn't left the house anyway as she's been too poorly. Dd and ds are due back school Monday obviously dd won't be going if we are waiting on pcr or she's still ill but can ds still go (he's in High school) dd is 5. Thanks again

That’s negative. She hmmm I have a positive LFT the line was a clear as for the control

Willyoujustbequiet · 30/10/2021 09:18

Thats negative but possibly too much solution?

GoodnightGrandma · 30/10/2021 09:19

Negative

CyclesPerfecta · 30/10/2021 09:25

Looks definitely negative. We’ve just had Covid. Our FlowFlex (x4 people) picked it up immediately (very strong line) at early stages and with symptoms. They are almost as accurate as PCR. But if you’re concerned, book a PCR for a piece of mind.

ImFree2doasiwant · 30/10/2021 09:29

She dies have to isolate if she had symptoms, which she does (I think....) . If she's just a close contact, no symptoms, she doesn't have to isolate.

If you take her this morning you should get the results before Monday hopefully . Hope she feels better soon!

I was reading only a couple of days ago about a recent study that shows LFT are as accurate as PCR when you have symptoms (95%)

Thankyou everyone I've done 2 more both clear negatives this time. Sounds gross but when I did the 2 with the pink background she did have lot of snot on the bud so the solution was thicker and today was much clearer and the drops went on easier so I'm now wandering if that could have caused the background aswell maybe

Even so, she has a cough so she needs a PCR. My DN tested positive on PCR and negative on LFT (done out of interest) two days later.
Miracle29 · 30/10/2021 19:52

@crocodilescry oh really. Yes I'll order a pcr to be safe.

Really hope it's negative and that she feels lots better soon.

Miracle29 · 30/10/2021 21:39
