If you suffered from side effects after AZ jab, how have you reacted to the booster?

I've just had my text saying I'm now eligible to book my booster. Yay!

I can get it as early as tomorrow morning, however I was hit really hard with side effects after both doses of AZ - aches everywhere, fatigue, fever, chills, nausea, even a bout of vomiting after the second one. I was laid up for a couple of days both times. I really don't want to be ill this weekend because I have too much to do, but of course the booster will be either Pfizer or Moderna, so I might have a totally different reaction.

Had anyone else reacted badly to AZ but then been okay after having the booster? Which one did you have?

I also reacted badly to AZ. I have just had the Pfizer - 12 hours gone and so far so good! Hope you get on okay :)

I was really unwell after my AZ jabs. Had no side effects from the Pfizer booster.

I was exhausted after 1st AZ, fine after 2nd AZ. Had Pfizer booster 2 days ago. Was tired in the evening, yesterday felt like I was getting flu, today I am fine except for a pain under the arm that was jabbed, possibly in lymph node.

Very unwell after first AZ, tired and achy after second. Had Pfizer booster last week - tired and a bit shivery the next day, but totally manageable with paracetamol. Right as rain after that

Bumping as would be interested to see a few more responses.

Pretty unwell after AZ #1 for about 4 days. Very tired (but no worse than that) after AZ #2. 48 hours on from Pfizer booster and I'm fine - was a bit tired last night but that's it!

Unwell after AZ 1
Bit tired after AZ 2 and mild headache
Pfizer 3rd vaccine - nothing really. Vaguely sore arm but my flu jab arm was worse!

I was ill with flu symptoms for about 5 days after the first AZ. Only a couple of days feeling tired and aches with the second. After my pfizer booster I just had a heavy arm for a few days and no fever or tiredness.

I had severe vomiting after the first jab but no side effects after the second.

All I had was a mild headache on waking, which eased after an hour.

RockinHorseShit · 05/11/2021 10:42

I had to switch from AZ to Pfizer for my second vaccine on medical advice after a bad reaction to my first AZ. I barely noticed the side effects of Pfizer

UndeadSlut · 05/11/2021 10:44

I had a very sore arm, extreme tiredness and bad headache for over a week after my first AZ. Nothing but tiredness after second. Had the Pfizer booster at the weekend, had a sore injection site for maybe 24 hours, and after that there pain in the lymph node for 48 hours afterwards. Absolutely fine now.

OobieDoo · 06/11/2021 07:37

So I ended up getting the jab on Monday rather than Saturday. My a started hurting after about ten minutes but I otherwise felt fine. I started to feel a little bit queasy and tired in the evening, about six hours after the jab, so I went to bed early and woke up feeling fine. The sore arm continued for a couple more days.

I reacted badly to the first AZ jab and was in bed for the day. The second AZ jab was fine.

I had my Pfizer booster yesterday and haven’t had a great night. I’m sweating and have chills, headache and just feel like I’ve been hit by a cricket bat.

Hopefully it’ll clear soon!

I had a terrible headache for a day after the first jab of AZ and a few other symptoms I don't remember (I have covid memory issues) 2nd vaccine I was fine, just a sore arm. I am apprehensive tbh about having the booster as I have long covid and still feel rotten most days so worried the booster may make me feel even worse.

dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 06/11/2021 21:00

1st AZ felt rough for a few days, 2nd Az was fine. Pfizer booster - felt fine.

Senso21 · 06/11/2021 21:07

Rotten after AZ’s - not even a sore arm after Pfizer booster
