1/ I got a wedge pillow as advised by a physio in one of the YT videos. Most of the day I spend in my bed and also put several pillows under my knees, to elevate them.
2/ Shower when I get v.high temperature. My fever is not so high any more but when it was 39.9C taking paracetamol didn't make much difference but shower did
3/ Freesheet breeze from an open window
4/ Clean PJ'S + fresh bedding.

What are yours?

Making myself get dressed and stand in the garden just for some fresh air.
Even two minutes in my dressing gown helps a little.

Interested in cushions for sleeping - I'm really struggling to get any sleep.

Tobogganist · 29/10/2021 15:31

Fruit Pastilles ice lollies.

Fere · 29/10/2021 17:05

@stripeymonster I followed her advice

Got myself this one. I think it's worth it. Quite firm. I don't use it to sit up, just when lying down.

Lots and lots of manuka honey and lemon, and I swear I felt a world better, temporarily, after making and eating proper chicken soup.

Bookridden · 29/10/2021 20:00

Fruit Pastille ice lollies were the only thing I could eat for a few days.

Dd 17 is currently suffering day 6 or 7 with terrible tonsillitis on top. We were at the hospital yesterday which I was pretty grateful for but not admitted.

Bizarrely the diet of fruit pastel lollies is a favourite here too. She's just started to get breathless (stopped coughing up blood). Thank you for this thread. I'm pretty level headed but I am a bit worried

Nothing in particular. I didn’t have a cough & was exhausted so slept a lot.

I let myself eat what I wanted cos I felt miserable & food cheers me up! One of the only things I could taste was chocolate & very sweet stuff. So I ate packets of biscuits 🙈😂 I’m now on a diet to shift the 4lbs I put on 🤦🏼‍♀️

Other than that, phone, my audiobook. I wasn’t isolating as I have young children & needed to look after them but when they were at school/nursery, I very much enjoyed mindlessly browsing on my phone & listening to my audio book guilt free. Covid was a bit grim but it was really nice to not have to do the school run or work or anything. It’s the first time all year I’ve been able to sit on the sofa & do nothing all day! I spent hours browsing for summer holiday abroad next year, booked one just before isolation ended 🥳 Looking at sunny photos of hotels, pools & beaches was cheerful! Something to look forwards too!

(Don’t get me wrong, there were parts of the day my head hurt so much all I could do was try to sleep but I had ups & downs through each day!)

I started listening to Sense and Sensibility but got confused (high temp) and went to watch it to clear my confusion! I knew the plot but it was nice not having to think who said what.
Yy to chocolate biscuits and pate sandwiches, with some ketchup. Everything else still tastes awful.
Don't forget about Berroca. I drink 2 tablets concentrated and warm. Highlight of my day Grin
Last night I squeezed 1 lemon, added 2 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of juice from grated ginger and watered it down with soda stream fizzy water. It tickled my throat but I will definitely make one more this afternoon.

Just came back to read this thread - so funny that Fruit Pastilles ice lollies is a thing. I've just have one! It's the only thing I can really taste. Living on them! My chest is tight now and I catch my breath sometimes with spontaneous gasps. 2 weeks since positive PCR.

Tobogganist · 31/10/2021 15:28

Just had one
