So on last post I was debating keeping Ds out of school for the last few days of 1/2 term in the hope we could get away to lakes for the week after cancelling in August.

Any way kept him in school as he had pe that week and loves it and just thought il take the chance , any way all tested neg and off we went on Friday .

Dh started with a cough Friday night sore throat ect ,sat am tested him again neg so thought it’s just a cold he stayed in bed . Sunday hot and cold Monday cough no better chest hurting another test now pos . No more lfts on me so we packed up came home stoped at local testing centre all had pcrs . Lfts on rest of us wen back home all neg .
Mine and dh came back pos today both kids neg
Ds had headake this morning did lft still neg will have to do another pcr on him in couple of days maybe , he feels ok now . His Halloween plans thou of going to party will prob have to be scrapped .
I’ve only had stinging of eyes up to now me and dh both jabbed so hoping it’s a smooth ride 🙏 I can’t fully isolate from Ds 11 did another lft on myself today which came back neg and with no cough I don’t know if that makes me less contagious?
Dh prob picked it up on pool night (wed) a few are ill , barmaid was coughing and sneezing behind bar can’t prove it was from that but I prob would of left! it wasn’t a little sneeze here and there a few comments were made about her . Anyway come to the point now unless you put life on pause you are going to catch it .
I’ve told Ds I will make it up to him with what yet I don’t know .

Same here. We travelled 200 miles for our holiday (after all having negative LFTs on Saturday morning). DH woke up with sore throat Sunday morning and was positive on LFT. Packed us all up and drove home!! Poor kids (age 5&7) are devastated. I'm now positive too but kids still negative - confirmed by PCRs. Gutted that it's half term week but nothing we can do about it. Just trying to keep things fun for the kids at home. DD is must upset she misses a party and trick and treating on Sunday, but I've promised we'll have a party tea at home (thank god for being able to order Halloween tat off Amazon!)

Hi Pug / Sally I speak to you from the other side... We come out of isolation tomorrow. Slack off all you need to. Order shite from Amazon aplenty. Watch some good films. Have some bare minimum standards (getting dressed and daily showering for us). They miss out on a lot and I really feel for you having holidays and Halloween plans spoiled. But just take heart that this will be out the way for you, you are plain sailing to a covid free Christmas.

I am thinking of ways to make up for it. For us centre Parcs is a dream holiday but too expensive to justify. I am thinking fuck it, I will book a weekend in Jan / Feb and call it our reward for not killing each other over the last 10 days!!

Hope you get through it as smoothly as possible. Flowers

Thank you ! DS has now tested positive ☹️ But yes hopefully gives us a smooth Christmas.! We were supposed to go flamingo land while away , tickets will be kept open so thinking of booking a lodge there stay and do 2 days expensive but what the hell .

He will miss start of term now and once upon a time ago would of been delighted at the thought but he’s so done with isolating . Movies and treats it is !
