We all had to get back to our offices and some have, some haven't.

Is there anyone that has been given the green light to go back and if so, with the recent spike in numbers, have you since been told to return to home working?

Haven't been in the office since March 2020!

TheBullfinch · 27/10/2021 23:06

I'd love to wfh again but we've just been told that unless something drastic happens, we'll all remain in the office.

JollyHostess · 27/10/2021 23:07

Hybrid working, in 3 days and home 2. I'm struggling to adapt because I like being at home but prefer my desk and set up at work.
I work in a uni so hard to say whether we will exclusively WFH again. Maybe just Admin? Cannot see teaching going back online 100% again.

jennymac31 · 27/10/2021 23:09

Hybrid working model is due to formally commence next month but people have been able to return to the office since September. That said, I won't be surprised if we get told that Hybrid model is put on hold until numbers go down and that colleagues should WFH if they can.

mobear · 27/10/2021 23:12

Back in 3 days a week, no change despite increasing cases.

Empressofthemundane · 27/10/2021 23:13

Nope. They’ve asked us to come in one extra day this week.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 27/10/2021 23:13

We’ve never officially been brought back. The office had been open for a handful of people who might want to use it since September 2020. I’ve been in about 10 times.

Theonlyoneiknow · 27/10/2021 23:14

Been 3 office/2 home since September. No sign or murmurings going back to wfh 5 days

RacketeerRalph · 27/10/2021 23:15

Yes, I've just delivered the WFH message to my team this week. We aren't forcing people, just advising they have our full support to do so and we advise they do. We've done it in anticipation Boris will.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 27/10/2021 23:18

DH has been on hybrid since July, 2 days in the office and 3 days WFH, not heard anything to suggest change to that pattern so far.

I've just started a university degree and am on campus 4 days a week, all seminars are f2f and some of the lectures are. I love working in the library there and would be gutted if I have to work at home, mainly because there's limited space.

Firesidefox · 27/10/2021 23:29

Nope thank god. Back in the office and have been for some time.

JANetChick · 27/10/2021 23:33

All of us are WFH currently. Hybrid model was supposed to start on 1st Nov but last week the bosses pushed it back to February due to rising cases in our borough. I have mixed feelings but will do what is necessary to avoid severe restrictions returning.

Babyroobs · 27/10/2021 23:36

We have never gone back to the office.

MajorCarolDanvers · 27/10/2021 23:38

Our office has been open since September but it's a choice how often go there or if to go there.

I'm mostly wfh but go to the office for meetings or we do active walking meetings outdoors.

WhatsitWiggle · 27/10/2021 23:45

We're in one day a week since 11 October (was meant to be 4th but fuel issues) and this was planned to stay during November, then increase to 2 days a week for a hybrid working trial lasting 6 months. It's staggered so the office is at 20% capacity each day, no desks next to or opposite each other.

Management have said the 1 day is mandatory unless the government says "work from home if you can " again when office working will be optional.

People are generally staying at home if they have a cold though, and if anyone in the household has Covid we're asked to stay away even if we're vaccinated / neg test. So we're probably closer to only 15% capacity, some days are really quiet (I go in 3 days as I don't like wfh much).

tedsletterofthelaw · 27/10/2021 23:52

I've never been out of the office. Oh how I envy you all WFH!

SuperstoreFan · 28/10/2021 06:11

I'm going in to the office as usual, my husband who works for a Local Authority is now working from home permanently.

lljkk · 28/10/2021 06:53

Official guidance never changed from WFH if you can.

if you must go in,
regular tests recommended,
Masks when moving around if in office.
Plexiglass everywhere
Lots little rules I forget.

Unofficially there are plenty colleagues in offices part time, many not masked or ignoring the other rules & recommendations.

RumHoney · 28/10/2021 06:55

We are both hybrid (I am 3 office/w WFH and OH is 2 in/3 WFH). OH was meant to be going up to 3 days office in November but has been told they're keeping it where it is due to case numbers. Mine is likely to stay where it is long term - we can go in more and some people do, but we don't have to.

I sort of prefer the office - my desk setup is better and I have my own office (with an opening window) anyway so no issues with being to close to people. But I do like the mornings when I don't need to drive over there and can have a lazier start!

72WayTooCool · 28/10/2021 07:13

Hybrid here. I go 2/3 days per week which is the right balance for me. Boss is trying to get everyone to do the same but has met some resistance from some who have got quite comfy at home. With cases rising, that's been parked again for now.

GoodnightGrandma · 28/10/2021 07:16

Some of us were sent home the other day, because we had some management visiting and the office was deemed too crowded.
In fact it was just at normal pre-Covid capacity.

SickAndTiredAgain · 28/10/2021 07:30

We’ve switched to permanent hybrid working, 2/3 days at home, 2/3 days in the office.
I think it would only go back to wfh full time if it was government advice. It’s a large, well known company, that has publicly been supportive of employees through covid and if the government said “you must now wfh if you can” they wouldn’t go against that.

OrangeCinnamonCocktail · 28/10/2021 08:34

@JollyHostess

Hybrid working, in 3 days and home 2. I'm struggling to adapt because I like being at home but prefer my desk and set up at work. I work in a uni so hard to say whether we will exclusively WFH again. Maybe just Admin? Cannot see teaching going back online 100% again.
I work in a Uni too. They are keen on having as many bodies on campus as possible. Only lectures that are too big for social distancing are being recorded, seminars, lab groups etc still happening.
FawnFrenchieMum · 28/10/2021 08:56

We returned officially in August to hybrid working 2 days at home, 3 days in the office. As it stands we are still in and can’t see that changing unless their is another national wfh instruction.

Theforest · 28/10/2021 09:00

We have been told to stay at home again unless there is a need to be in the office.
