How can I be contacted through Test and Trace...

...when I don't have the t&t app, nor have I 'checked in' anywhere for months?! I've received a text and email, all legit, that I've been in contact with someone that has tested positive, so need to book a PCR. I've booked a test for this afternoon, and am pretty sure I'm negative as I took a day 2 test on Sunday after travelling abroad which came back negative. I haven't been out since. Confused

You've been named by someone who has tested positive. They provide your email/number to test and trace.

idontlikealdi · 26/10/2021 13:24

Someone has tested positive and provided your details

SunnySomer · 26/10/2021 13:25

Have you spoken to anyone at all outside your home? When my DS was contacted he had to give names and addresses of everyone outside school that he’d spent time with at a distance less than 1m

ChessieFL · 26/10/2021 13:25

If you’ve been abroad it probably means someone on your flight has tested positive and the airline has provided your details.

Ah, fab. That makes most sense!

The app is completely different thing.

Summersdreaming · 26/10/2021 14:19

Yep sounds like someone on the flight tested positive on their day 2. But if you're double vaccinated you can ignore it? I think?

Hoppinggreen · 26/10/2021 14:23

When we went abroad in July someone tested positive on the flight from their day 2 test so we had to isolate, even though we were quarantining.
We got 4 phone calls a day between us
“Are you isolating”? No
“Errr, why not?” Because I’m quarantining
Later that day
“Are you quarantining”? No
“Errr, why not?” Because I’m isolating
Apparently it was a completely different thing and we had to have both calls every day

I've done a test. It wasn't compulsory, and I'm double jabbed so don't have to isolate, but better safe than sorry. My dad is staying with me (over 70), and I'm going to a party this weekend, so testing seemed like the sensible thing to do.

It’s from someone on the plane who tested positive the same thing happened to me and I thought it was a scam at first, they also informed me on the 9th day of what would have been 10 days of isolation had I not have been double jabbed so pretty pointless to be honest! You don’t have to isolate if you are double jabbed but you have to call and tell them that you are or do the online link and then they leave you alone.

Yeah, I've done the online account thing and taken a test.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me today!
Could not work it out. Neg LFT Sunday at mother's care home.
Neg LFT this morning. No symptoms. Have sent off for PCR as instructed.
It can only have been one of a very small number of people - most of whom I would know about if they were ill.

Interestingly though, I only had a text and no email. The two likeliest scenarios I can think of both have my email as well as my phone number.
