Chest infection?

Wondering if anyone recognises this pattern and can share their experiences.
Before covid I'd usually have two chest infections a year. Gp would usually do a throat swab to culture and identify if bacterial (I'm severely allergic to penicillin) but unsure if they still do this.

I've had both covid vaccinations.

Last week I felt exhausted and had a rash on my abdomen and thighs.
On Friday I had back ache, still exhausted. Lft negative.
Woke up early on Saturday feeling like razor blades were in my throat. Wondered about tonsillitis as I get this occasionally.
On Saturday I was still exhausted, it was painful to swallow, I had muscle aches and was coughing up yellow sputum. Lft negative.
Same on Sunday, booked a pcr which was negative (results back same day!)
Monday - same symptoms but I now also feel like I have a head cold (runny nose and headache started today).

So I initially felt like I had a chest infection but now it also feels like a head cold.
Has anyone else had this recently?

My Son had this a couple of weeks ago, but didn’t have a rash. He did ring GP but was told it’s the nasty cold virus that is going around, he had to have a week off work. He had a blood test which showed he was low on vitamin D. He missed his flu jab last year, he has asthma, but he’s had it this year, so hoping this helps if he gets another nasty cold.

Thanks, I hope your son is fully recovered now. That's interesting about his vitamin d levels.
