Ds2 infected last Monday. Does this affect when he can be vaccinated? Do we have to wait?

Is that 4 weeks from your positive pcr or 4 weeks from the end of your illness?

Changemusthappen · 23/10/2021 20:37

This is a great question and I am glad posters are confirming the 4 weeks. I think many parents don't know this and the very delayed vaccine rollout of 12-15 years has been doubly messed up as so many have had it over the past few weeks. My DS has had it and now won't be having the vaccine at school. I wonder if they are going to do 'round 2' of vaccines for those children unable to have it this time.

I'm currently ill with COVID-19, can I get the vaccine?

People currently unwell and experiencing COVID-19 symptoms shouldnotreceive the COVID-19 vaccine until they haverecovered.

You can have the vaccine28 daysafter you had a positive test for COVID-19 or28 daysafter your symptoms started, so you may need to wait.
