Are 16 year olds still having 1 jab ?

I’ve tried googling and I’m still only finding information that says 16 year olds only need one dose .
I’ve received 3 messages in the past few days to remind my dd to have her 2nd dose.
Does anyone know if the advice has changed ?

Still 1 dose as far as I'm aware

The Guardian is reporting that the advice to the Govt has changed and that 16-17 should get their second jab now, also that this will be announced by the Govt next week.

Thank you , I know when she had the first dose they said it was a possibility.

I had a text from my surgery earlier this week telling my 16 year old he needed to book his second jab.
I followed the link and booked it for this coming Wednesday before reading up and realising he's not supposed to have a second yet.
He's not CEV or vulnerable in any way, he's a strapping, healthy 16 year old.
I rang my surgery and they were hopeless. They didn't have a clue what the rules were or whether he should have had the text or not.
They advised I ring 119 which I tried to do and again got nowhere. I followed the vaccine options but never got to speak to a human.
At the moment we still have the appointment but I'm unsure whether to take him or not.

At present it's one shot, unless CEV, household of CEV, CV or young carer

Given that they've ballsed up the roll out if third primaries (not boosters) to the exceptionally immune suppressed by failing to invite them in a timely fashion, it seems only fair they balls up another group by doing the opposite and inviting before announcing the scheme

I asked at a local vaccine bus about my 17yo who had her first dose early August. They said she wouldn't be able to have her second until she is 17 and 3/4 (next June). I told them I was CEV and they said that there is no such thing anymore... Hmm

I know that shielding has stopped, obviously, but that does not mean that all the people who were shielding have magically disappeared or become non vulnerable.

But that is interesting from the Guardian
