Last week dd2 and I visited my mum and my dB. Both of them have tested positive. I'm symptomatic, had pcr test this morning. Dd1 is meant to be coming home next week for reading week from uni. Face-to-face face teaching starts the week after. She shouldn't come home should she?? Means we won't see her before her 18th birthday. This is shite.

Sorry OP that does sound shit. I tested positive on 22nd Dec last year meaning our mostly cancelled family Christmas was totally cancelled so I totally get it. The bloody virus is bad enough without the injustice and disappointment.

It's a pain isn't it. I had Covid over the August Bank Holiday weekend, I had tickets to an event that only happens once a year and had already been cancelled the year before due to restrictions. Was gutted to miss it.

It appears to be the rule with covid that you'll test positive just when it is most annoying to do so
