Day 5 of isolation for DS, he's so bored!

DS 12yrs tested positive on Monday, LFT confirmed with PCR. He's asymptotic and so far the rest of us have managed to avoid it.
He's officially out of isolation next Thurs. Any ideas to keep him occupied? He's been gaming, painting his Warhammer models, been in the garden for some fresh air but not much to do out there, how can we keep him going until next week?
Any ideas for those who've been through it with a healthy child? All suggestions gratefully received!

This is what TV and video games are for.

Audiobooks, podcasts, eg. Treasure Island 2020.
Movies/TV.
Games - Othello, Tri-Dominos - many are available as apps with single player mode against computer and online mode against others.

Does he have any school work to do?

mdh2020 · 22/10/2021 08:35

Set him a project to research - what is he interested in? Eg history of his favourite football team. Surely he has some school work?

Homework? Box set of Star Wars etc. New computer game. Take him cycling somewhere rural but make sure he stays away from anyone else. Take all the water/snacks you need with you.
Chess, scrabble?

School work? Our school set work for those that are SI but healthy.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately school have been useless, they've provided links for each subject but they are of little relevance to what he's actually studying. He's on half term now anyway.
As much as I'm tempted to take him out for a bike ride, I don't think it's a good idea. And there's only so much YouTube, gaming, TV he can do!

Have you got any board games like Crystal Maze or Taskmaster which are more interactive?

DoctorSnortles · 22/10/2021 13:52

Read.

He could do some housework, too. Teach him to work a washing machine, clean his bedroom and do his own ironing.

We ended up buying some paint online and decorating a room 🙈
