Any 16 and 17yo DCs had 2nd jab?

My friend's DC who is 17 yrs and 5 months has just had the 2nd jab. Normally you only qualify for the 2nd jab at 17years 9 months. The only exception is if you fall into any of a small number of risk categories, which my friend's DC doesn't.

Has anyone else's 16 and 17yo DCs had the second jab when they do not meet the official criteria?

Hi. No just one vaccine here and I've been told that my DS shouldn't expect to hear about a second dose until 4 weeks before his 18th birthday. He's currently 16 so a bit to wait

Yes my dd had her second back in May. Health condition as a baby made her eligible

Dd's just been invited for her second one. She had her first aged 17yo, she received the 2nd invite on the day she turned 18.
None of her 17yo friends have had two.

Dd just turned 17 has had both. Dh is vulnerable so dr agreed to jab her early (2/3 weeks before her age group were made eligible).

Yes. DS aged 16 had first dose in June and second in late August. Older 6th (year 13) schoolmate was volunteering at a local clinic & they had spare doses because of non attendees. Y13-er messaged friendship group and asked them to tell anyone 16+ that doses available on first come first served basis. Everyone who turned up got a dose.
