The timing of the leak about Boris supposedly breaking Xmas rules

Anyone else a bit suspicious about the timing of the leak about Boris and Carrie breaking the Xmas rules and having someone stay over?
Is this to encourage more people to think well if they aren't going to follow the rules neither am I and to stop people wanting lockdown now as the economy can't take another lockdown?
Just find it a bit dodgy how it's only coming out now with increased calls for lockdown.

Interesting theory. Makes sense on the face of it.

Though tbh I think compliance with any serious degree of restrictions is long gone with a lot of people anyway.

Just like the flying around on holiday , not isolating after close contacts , breaking lock down rules for an “eye test” . It’s one rule for the government another for the little people
