Secondary school vaccines

DC was due to have the covid vaccine and the flu vaccine today at school. It didn't happen, apparently they only managed to get through a small amount of those that were due to be vaccinated (I've heard around 200 out of over 1000 but I don't know how accurate that is.)

I remember reading on here that other schools have had similar happen and I'm wondering if the immunisation teams have managed to come back to vaccinate those that were missed? Or is it a case of tough luck, you're not getting it now? By those figures it's looking like they need several more visits but of course they have loads of other schools to cover too. Such a massive task!

They will be able to get the covid vaccine at a vaccination centre from next week.

We aren’t coming back where I work.
It will be the hub from next week.

Oh thanks I didn't know that! Just one of the walk in clinics I assume?

I wonder if there's a way of getting the flu spray done elsewhere?

Sorry, so can I take my 15 year old to any vaccine hub as of next week? His school aren't due for a few weeks.

In our area, it works like this:

Those 12-15 year olds who were unable to attend the vaccination session at their school can book an appointment at certain community clinics from this week onwards. When booking, you have to select your school from a drop-down menu, and schools only appear on the list once the school-aged immunisation service has done the session there. So if they haven't visited your school yet then you can't book an appointment.

I can't speak for any other areas.

DD2 is 12 and recently got an invitation to book a vaccination (or rather I did on her behalf). She's having it this half term. No sign of anything happening in school yet.
