What proof can I get from the NHS that teenager has had covid confirmed by positive PCR test?

I know there are all sorts of different NHS apps but my teenager has recently had covid (confirmed by positive PCR), done 10 days of isolation etc and is therefore not jabbed. I want to download or get some sort of proof for potential travel but mainly just to show their status as someone who has had covid if evidence is ever needed?

Does such a thing exist? Teenager is 14.

How did you get the covid result?

uggmum · 19/10/2021 12:47

If they had an official nhs pcr test which was positive you can call 119 and they will issue you a certificate to confirm it.

Your teen must have had a text or email to confirm theyve had covid? (im guessing that it isnt enough?)

BatshitCrazyWoman · 19/10/2021 16:07

I think you can get a certificate of recovery after the 10 day isolation period - I have that option on the NHS app.

@poorbuthappy

How did you get the covid result?
I got contacted by email and text by the NHS to say they had a positive PCR test and what to do next.

Print the email?

alrightfella · 19/10/2021 18:00

I'd like to know this too with regards to travel. I don't think a print out of an email is enough but no one seems to know the answer.

You can't get a Covid pass for travel for under 16s. It's a pain in the bum because if your country requires a negative PCR for unvaccinated over 12s, and your child tested positive in the preceding 3 months, their test could still show positive even though they are not actively infectious.

Other than an email to Sajid David to point this out, in the hope he realises many countries are asking for proof for over 12s and sorts it out, I'm not sure there's anything you can do.

Don't think currently possible for teenagers sorry
