Antibody testing failures

Anyone got any ideas about what might have happened with our antibody tests?

DH and I are part of the ONS infection survey and recently signed up for the antibody testing. We had our first results back and they both came back as "test failure". The email reads: "The blood sample taken on [date] from the participant born on [date] was not determined (test failure)."

Why might both have failed? We followed the instructions and collected the correct amount of blood. Both double-vaccinated (5 months ago) and both had covid 5 months ago too, so we were expecting positive antibody results.

Sample got spoilt or spilt?

It was hard work for DH to get the blood out (the man just doesn't bleed!) so he'll be gutted it didn't work Grin
