Faint positive LFT one hour later

DS3 (10) did an LFT tonight before bed and then headed upstairs. By the time we'd got everyone to bed, it was an hour by the time I checked the LFT and saw a faint positive.

The leaflet says to disregard the result after 30 mins so we'll test again in the morning but I wondered if this had happened to anyone else. Has anyone known a false positive after an hour?

Did another LFT this morning, different brand to the ones that showed up positive: result was negative. The rest of the household also negative.

I really don't think he has COVID but I was surprised by Public Health's reaction too. I work in a school office and talk to them a lot and they are normally super cautious, but not this time.

We are waiting for a PCR test to come back. DD had a very faint line the other night but it was a definite line. She had a PCR yesterday morning and she wanted to try another LFT in the afternoon. It had a line but I had to really look at it under the light to see it, I don't think I'd have noticed it under normal circumstances but I was really looking for it. I wish they'd hurry up with the results, I just want to know now. We're at around 30 hours since the test.
