I'm fed up of this now and want to start feeling some improvement. I'm on day 7 of symptoms and getting no better or worse. I'm mostly lay in bed, no energy to do anything and no appetite. I know it's so different for everyone but if you have had covid before at what point did you turn a corner? Or a what point enoughs enough and you needed medical help?

Sorry, not much help, but I'm on day 9 (double jabbed). Not having to take painkillers throughout the day anymore, but am just so exhausted. Either been in bed or on sofa for the whole time. Hope you feel better soon.

JanglyBeads · 16/10/2021 12:31

Day 7 used to be the point people either got better or worse, but am not sure that’s the case with delta. Having said that, I’ve just recovered from Covid, and would start it was about day 7 I began to feel a bit normal. Never felt that bad though to be fair.

Are you double vaccinated?

What are your symptoms? If you’re worried, ring the NHS line.

Let’s hope in a few hours you start to feel better 💐

JanglyBeads · 16/10/2021 12:32

Sorry just seen you’d put a bit about symptoms. So is it mainly feeling fatigued?

Fayrazzled · 16/10/2021 12:33

I’m with you. Day 7 and I’m fed up I’m not getting better or worse. I feel like I’ve got a permanent raging hangover and am totally fatigued. Feel like I’ll never be well again.

AlexaShutUp · 16/10/2021 12:34

Day 11 here. Out of isolation tomorrow. I started feeling a little less exhausted yesterday and I think I'm better again today. Still not 100% but getting there.

Hope you feel better soon. Flowers

Day 8 when the 'throat feeling like knives on fire' stopped and I felt better than I had been

However, am on day 15 and do not feel fully better yet. Taste/smell still very off. Exhausted and breathless. Friends have said min 3 weeks to feel anything like normal as some much longer Sad

5831bob123 · 16/10/2021 12:44

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I have no energy and no appetite which is a vicious circle.

I’m day 10 and feeling horrific, after being so smug about feeling better after the first 36 hours!
I spoke to my GP yesterday who said it’s a 21 day disease abd people who usually get worse around day 7-8 will start to pick up around day 10. He said it’s running it’s normal course.
My symptoms aren’t chesty or breathlessness thouhh. I literally cannot stand up without the room spinning and wanting to vomit. If I walk for a stretch ie to the loo, I retch. It’s like having a constant whitey! So fed up!

MerryMarigold · 16/10/2021 13:13

Make sure you are testing your oxygen levels. My friend's dh was very low but not coughing or breathless. Only when he went to hospital as he was so exhausted (and she was worried) they discovered oxygen very low. You can get oximeter from the pharmacy about 7 pounds.

Hi 👋 I’m on day 6. Last night was HORRENDOUS, I was so dizzy and it was difficult to open my eyes. I’m back to back paracetomal and can tell when it’s wearing off. Is it true about the dip, so you feel a bit better then get fucked over again?!

Tiredout123 · 16/10/2021 19:51

Hi. I'm on day 8. I felt lots better on day 5/6 for half a day and then started coughing a lot again and temperature. Feeling much better today but am still coughing. Just feel a bit more normal though. More energy, no temperature, more attitude etc Grin

Revengeofthepangolins · 16/10/2021 20:07

Sorry to be depressing but I am on day 27 and still feel fairly crap.

Serrena85 · 26/10/2021 08:57

Twotoesmo · 26/10/2021 09:27

Day 8 here. Thought I was better on day 5, but since yesterday have had a dip. I feel aches and fatigued. In bed all day. No taste or smell. I just want to sleep. I’m mid 40s, double jabbed since July.

Suchi1 · 26/10/2021 11:33

I’m on day 8, felt dreadful day 3/4 then a bit better days 5/6/7 but feel absolutely terrible today and back in bed. I’m aching, cold, sore throat and feel sick. This is grim this illness. I can’t see me being back at work anytime soon that’s for sure.

Wagsandclaws · 26/10/2021 11:36

Day 15 here and just starting to feel vaguely normal.

I have asthma too and it was very painful in my chest up until a couple of days ago. Hope you feel better soon op

EmmaMaya · 26/10/2021 12:15

Sorry to be bleak but I am on day 35 and still feeling rough. Some days are better than others but it is very up and down.

Acappuchinoplease · 26/10/2021 14:59

I’m day 13, still not back to normal but much better. Still very tired and low level headache and head still feels stuffy

Avarua · 26/10/2021 17:50

Yikes. Just think, if this is what's it's like when you're vaccinated, it would've been truly awful if you weren't.

elephantoverthehill · 26/10/2021 18:01

I went back to work on day 11, I wish I hadn't, just so tired. On half term now so I can go and have a nap in the afternoon. Today has not been a good day, day 25. I try to get things done but end up back in bed. Sorry if that was negative but I am learning that we need to wrap ourselves up in a bit of cotton wool.

Flidina · 26/10/2021 18:10

@Revengeofthepangolins

Sorry to be depressing but I am on day 27 and still feel fairly crap.
Me too, still coughing and very breathless, zero energy, oxygen levels keep plummeting too, still no sense of taste or smell, completely done with this now, just want to feel normal again.
Bobholll · 26/10/2021 18:23

I felt pretty shit for 14 days, then decided I’d had enough of my whole of misery 😂 I started to push myself out & about despite feeling grim. A trip to softplay with my kids. A short walk to the shops. The school run. A bit of cleaning round the house. I did half a day at work for a couple days. It really helped. I kept it gentle & made sure to rest inbetween. But from past experience of nasty illness, not doing anything makes it so much worse!

Ive been fine since Sunday (about 19 days maybe). Not 100% but fine. Had a day trip with the kids, been for walks, had a little shopping trip. Still can’t smell a thing though 3 weeks later, I miss my smell 😭 although my toddlers nappies are much nicer experience 😂

Silkieschickens · 26/10/2021 18:37

Day 43 of it here Sad think been unlucky, had to go into hospital this week for a drip. Main symptoms now are gastric and live in the bathroom. The cough, lack of smell, taste, cold etc have improved but gastric which had from start worsened severely over past week and a bit so couldnt keep in any fluids or food and could only lie down.

Hi, I am on day 3 if I include ocr test result day but started feeling very tired and fuzzy 5 days ago. Thought I was feeling better yesterday but today have been in bed for most of the day. Coughing has started today. Can still taste and smell but have all other symptoms. Hoping to feel better soon. Had booked annual leave this week.
