Just that really. I can see from this that lots of people have it or have had it recently and feel really grim with it. I assume most are vaccinated and yet still getting quite ill from it. Anyone been hospitalised with Covid even though vaccinated?

Thanks for your inputs in advance.

Ex fil was hospitalised he has other health issues aswell. He is double jabbed and needed oxygen and treatment for bloodclots recovered well and is back to his normal self now.
Am double jabbed had it very mild felt like a headcold and had 2 day migraine.

lineandsinker · 15/10/2021 21:59

I’m vaccinated. Tested positive last week.

It has been nothing more than a head cold for me - I’ve had worse colds in my time. The worst day symptoms-wise was the day I tested positive as I had aches and pains but it subsided quite quickly.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 15/10/2021 22:02

I felt like shite. Runny nose, coughing so badly it made me wee and puke (tmi?), really drained.

Was two months ago. Was getting over it, now this hideous cold has struck me down.

DotBall · 15/10/2021 22:08

Yes, 4 weeks ago.
GP recommended attending hospital as she was concerned breathing issues were a clot but it wasn’t. Scans showed evidence of viral pneumonia and a chest infection which I had antibiotics for.

Worst part for me was actually week 2 when I had terrible dehydration and was constantly nauseous despite having 800ml Dioralyte a day to fend it off.

I am double vaccinated, in my 40s and was relatively fit and healthy. I got covid a few months back and have not recovered yet. I was hospitalised and given oxygen and steroids. I am better than I was but keep getting a racing heart, headaches, tight chest, and unbelievable fatigue. My sense of taste and smell are slightly better than last week but not right yet. I now have an inhaler that I didn't need before.
The fatigue is unreal. I cannot really do much. I'm sleeping for huge chunks of time. I can't climb the stairs without feeling dreadful. I have been signed off work for another couple of weeks but genuinely worry that I won't be fit to fully return at that point. It is really depressing and I want my life and energy back.

ANameChangeAgain · 15/10/2021 22:15

Scarey how it still gets people. Dh got it 2 weeks after 2nd jab. Complete loss of taste and smell, only just back 4 months later. He's had worse colds, but was was unwell for a couple of weeks.

Jaffacake007 · 15/10/2021 22:19

I currently have a pulmonary embolism due to covid. Was recovering from pneumonia 2 weeks before positive PCR so assuming why it was severe... just bad luck I guess? Have been hospitalised on and off for 2 weeks with low oxygen but I didn't have a cough, temperature etc. Only symptom I had was a swollen tongue?

But other than this, very healthy, 26 years old, double vaccinated and no underlying health conditions.

Winealot · 15/10/2021 22:37

Doubled vaxxed, , late 40’s and slim and fit. Felt terrible, 10 days in bed after feeling achey and like I was sickening for something for 4 or 5 days.
5 weeks on, still very tired and not back to exercising. Stomach not right either.
Shocked how much it has affected me, just didn’t expect to feel so rough.

Needanewadventure2021 · 15/10/2021 23:06

Absolutely horrible. I'm day 12 and feel like absolute crap

Mistlewoeandwhine · 15/10/2021 23:13

I’m currently in the throes of it and feeling very sorry for myself. Only had one Pfizer about 8/9 weeks ago and hadn’t got round to getting number two. I’d thought having Covid last year (milder) and one vaccine would be enough. Wrong. I feel hellish and not just ill, but low and very weepy.

junebirthdaygirl · 15/10/2021 23:18

Doubly vaccinated here. Was very sick first 5 days of isolation..desperate fatigue, could barely move and pains all over. Like a bad flu. Plus cough. Lots of paracetamol/ drinks. Felt miserable and down in myself. Began to pick up gradually after that. On day 22 now and feel pretty much back to normal but haven't returned to gym etc but a bit of walking. Early 60s with no underlying illnesses.

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 16/10/2021 00:40

Thanks for all the real life stories. My son has it right now and I am really trying not to catch it off him. He is just not ill at all. Wouldn't have known but for the required tests for school. He just had the mildest cough for a couple of days. Hard to believe when you see that, that it can cause such devastation.

Double jabbed Pfizer, day 6 and feel horrendous. Can’t sleep, really dizzy, head cold, sore eyes, tight chest. I’d struggle to look after the kids on my own.

SandandFog · 16/10/2021 05:50

I caught Covid after Pfizer double vaccination, my 2nd jab was early March and I caught it almost exactly 6 months later. I am 41 relatively fit and healthy.

I felt awful, struggled to get out of bed but struggled to sleep because of fever. Cough, sneezing, horrible old symptoms. It's been a long time since I felt that unwell.

I lost my taste and smell, smell is still weird, things smell funny or not strong. I still have sinus issues and blocked nose 6 weeks on.

Alittlebitofthis · 16/10/2021 06:08

I got a positive result on Tuesday. Woke up on Monday with a head cold and the lft was positive so booked a pcr. Like someone else above, I had a really sore head for a couple of days but paracetamol helped. I noticed a couple of days ago that my smell and taste have pretty much gone.
My 9 year old also tested positive and he's been ok.
Hopefully you won't catch it. My dh hasn't caught it from us.

Fashionesta · 16/10/2021 12:35

Double vaccinated 6 months ago. Mid 40s. Caught it off DD (who has been fine). Started as massive head cold but now in day 7 I've lost smell and taste completely. I feel exhausted and just not right. Feel like i have racing heart at times too.

Paddingtonthebear · 16/10/2021 12:42

Mid 40’s & double vaxxed. Day 1 and 2 were ok, felt tired and had constant headache and sinus pain but was up and about the house). Today is day 3 and I’m in bed, sinus pain is horrible, whole face and teeth hurt, have lost my voice and also lost taste and smell. No energy and quite snotty. Husband is about 4-5 days ahead of me and feeling better today so hopefully I will be the same. We have different symptoms though, only shared symptom is loss of smell/taste.
