How long has it taken for you to get results after sending home pcr test?

So my ds started with symptoms yesterday. I've ordered a home test as he freaks out at centres! As it was yesterday evening it hasn't yet arrived today so I'm assuming it will come tomorrow. If I do it and send it back straight away is it likely I'll get result day after?
Also did lft last night but negative. Not sure whether to do another to see if any change or not bother. Or if they work at all with symptoms anyway.

I ordered a home test on Sunday evening 6pm and it arrived Monday 1pm. Sent it back soon after and got result Tuesday 7pm.

It's not that LFTs don't work if you have symptoms, it's just that they are somewhat unreliable anyway, so it's better to get a PCR if you want a more reliable result (eg you've been in contact with a positive case).

That's alot quicker than me isn't it. Do you get notified to say it's on the way? I've heard nothing yet.

I did one last weekend. Ordered on Friday morning, got notification on Saturday morning it would be delivered that afternoon. Posted it straight back on Saturday afternoon, received results on Sunday around midday.

I ordered mine Saturday morning 8am, it was delivered on Sunday morning. Delivery notification email came hour and a half before the actual delivery. I did the test Monday and posted it in a priority box on Monday 1pm and got the results on Tuesday 7pm.

After getting tired of visiting test centres so flipping often these last few weeks, I ordered us some home pcrs last week to keep in so we had them when needed.

Dd1 and dd2 had symptoms yesterday after school so I did the tests straight away and got them in the priority postbox for the 6pm collection…still waiting for results.

I would do another Lateral flow as well. Dd started with symptoms on Sunday morning but her lateral flow was negative. Tested again at 3pm and the line was really strong

I sent a postal PCR away yesterday morning. Put in post box at 7:30am now 10:30pm the following day and I've had no results.

We tested and posted Mon afternoon. Received results this evening, so it took just over 48 hrs. East Midlands.

Ds sent one in last Fri. Still not had the results. Given up waiting now.
