When do test and trace contact after a positive?

How long does it take for test and trace to contact you once you have a positive result?
I'm waiting on a postal test which I expect to be positive, just wondering when I should expect to hear from T+T.
Not that I can tell them much of use as I hadn't been anywhere.

Dd tested positive yesterday. Had to fill in an online form which came through after about an hour. Haven’t had any contact since that, yet.

Tatum1234 · 13/10/2021 11:56

One of my children it was 6 days later, with another they called within an hour of me getting the positive result.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/10/2021 11:57

Positive result at 4am. They phoned at 8am.

fiorentina · 13/10/2021 11:59

The next morning after the positive result I filled in the form. They called the next day for my DD, but I couldn’t hear them at all, they tried again the next day.

spurs4ever · 13/10/2021 11:59

Positive results at 9am yesterday, phone call from them by 10.30 x

unvillage · 13/10/2021 12:10

I got my positive result through at 8am yesterday and had the email an hour later, but no phonecalls yet.

degsydoodoos · 13/10/2021 12:27

We had our results by text between 4 and 7am, and the first phonecall came at 8:45 am!! You can do a lot of your contact reporting online which cuts down on the length of the first phonecall, and although they rang me a further 4 times over the 10 days, each call was very short and just sort of checking if I needed help with anything.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 13/10/2021 12:35

Dc1's positive result came through at 5am & T&T me called at 10:50 this morning.

FabricedeSauveterre · 13/10/2021 12:38

Positive result at 10.30pm
Text from t+t at 0730 with a link to complete then another at 0906 asking why it hadn’t been done yet, and then a follow up call at 2pm.

naughty40me · 13/10/2021 12:41

Positive result text at 7.40am
Phone call at 9am

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 13/10/2021 13:24

About 24 hours later for us.

ChristmasCovid · 13/10/2021 19:09

They’ll send you a link to fill in if you test positive.
You have a limited time to do it if you don’t fill it in they call to get the information (long call)
Adults then get short welfare/isolation calls roughly on 3 separate days (short calls)

Tinysnickers · 13/10/2021 21:44

I finally got a positive this evening. They didn't send a link, just a code to enter on the app. But I can't enter my first day of symptoms because the stupid calendar wi only let me go as far as 5 days ago and it was 7. I'm damned if I am isolating for an extra 10 days because they fucked up my first two PCRs which should clearly have been positive because my lateral flows were.

Yes a lot of the system is a bit like that.

Have to say I stopped answering their calls and they referred me onto council test and trace who were a million times better, so will be doing that in the future should I return to this position!

Tinysnickers · 13/10/2021 23:46

Now the stupid app is telling me to isolate 10 days from today. Stuff that.

It depends how busy they are, I work for test and trace and some days we have 600+ positive cases to deal with, so it's a lot. It has been taking a couple of days to contact some people, others are quicker and others don't end up getting contacted at all unfortunately which is a shame. They have taken on more contact tracers now though so hopefully that won't happen anymore!

FindingMeno · 14/10/2021 17:44

Very quickly then it seems they just don't give up.
What exactly they keep phoning for once you've gone through the whole contacts questions is beyond me.

Dancetherain · 14/10/2021 19:50

Got dd1 positive result at 7 am yesterday, t and t rang at 8.15. Took so long dd2 was late for school then rang me 4 more times for each member of the family. To tell me ds1, ds2 and dd2 and Dp had bee identified as contacts of a positive case. They have rung twice today as dp info was missing something. Honestly we all live in the same house why on earth do we need a phonecall for each person?

TrumptyDumpty · 14/10/2021 21:08

DS2 got positive result Tuesday at 5am, they rang at 8am. DS1 got his positive result yesterday at 12pm, they rang at 1pm so very quick. No forms were sent, I guess because they spoke to me to get contacts etc
