Can someone help clarify isolation rules?

DS14 had positive PCR on Tuesday (5th). Isolation period is up on Saturday. He tested positive on lateral flow this morning. If a lateral flow is still positive on Saturday how much longer does he have to isolate? Is it until he does a negative lateral flow, or does he have to have another PCR/start another 10 days? The only symptom he has is a runny nose and he is so bored! We wouldn't even have got him tested in the first place except we were told he might have been a close contact at drama club, he had a negative lateral flow on Monday 4th. I have read all the Gov guidelines and normally very good at interpreting all the rules but this is confusing me! (all the rest of the house had negative PCR btw)

Why are you doing lateral flows if he has had a positive PCR?

I was told by T and T not to test as can show positive for weeks. After 10 days you are not infectious, but if you are showing symptoms still you should remain in until they have passed.

He has to isolate for 10 days from his positive PCR. The only time he’d have to isolate for longer is if he still had a temperature after 10 days.
Why are you taking more tests?

You only need to continue to isolate after 10 days if you have a high temp.

You shouldn't be testing him anymore as a pcr and lft can show a positive result up to 90 days after being infected. He only needs to continue isolation after 10 days if he still has a fever/runny nose/sneezy and or diarrhoea if I remember correctly

Thanks everybody, I appreciate all the responses. His brother did an LFT and he did one too I guess out of habit more than anything. I feel really stupid asking the question in the first place but we have been so lucky escaping any positive results until now that I didn't know what to do, plus of course I don't want to put anybody else at risk
