LFT v PCR on day 2

Hmm, I thought I'd be organised and booked DS's day 2 PCR nice and early. (He's going to Spain for half term.)

The very next day, the gov announced that Day 2 tests will be LFTs by the end of the month not PCRs. Too late to cancel the one I had ordered, which arrived the day after that.

Not sure what to do. Can I just get DS to do the PCR rather than buying another test? Is it reasonable to ask Boots to exchange it given what's happened?

I don’t think the LFT test date has been confirmed yet, so the current advice is still to buy a PCR… also due to go away HT and wondering how long I can leave it to see if they change before I go! Presumably a PCR would still be fine in your case as it’s more accurate than an LFT.
