Isolation rules for 15 year old -

Looking for guidance and advice. My son (15) tested positive last week so we isolated. I tested positive today does that mean he has to start the 10 days isolation again with me as there is only 2 of us in the house or because he is under 18 can he go back to school when his 10 days are completed. Such different info out there just want to do the right thing but also really conscious of him being away from school for quite a while - has anyone been in the same position? Thanks

He needs to isolate for 10 days from when his symptoms began, as long as he is feeling better, he can return to school after that period. Smile

He can go back to school once his own isolation period has finished.

We've just had the same situation. DS2 caught Covid at school, and one by one the whole family succumbed. Once our own 10 days were up we were each free to go back to normal life as long as we had no symptoms other than a residual cough or loss of taste and smell once the time was up. It's just as well as DS2 would have been off school for nearly a month if he had to stay off whilst the rest of the family were isolating.
It is confusing though I agree, and Test & Trace doesn't help. As well as our entire family testing positive so did a number of DS2's close friends so we got a ridiculous number of calls and very inconsistent advice from some of the callers. I found the website a lot more useful than the calls to be honest.

He can come out of isolation after his 10 days are up as long as he is feeling better and no fever.
