Dd has very mild cold symptoms no fever, occasional cough and has tested positive. Ds is horrendous with a cough and sneezing and fever but is negative. I feel lousy with headache, bit of a cough, slight temp, and generally knackered and also negative. Dds first PCR was negative. Why can't this bloody virus follow proper rules?

Because people's immune system doesn't follow proper rules. Grin

Because there are lots of other viruses around, not just Covid.

AFuturisticalSound · 05/10/2021 15:57

I'm not sure if this is a serious question, which medical conditions dofollow proper rules?

FlatteredFool · 05/10/2021 16:42

I think I'm just frustrated by the unpredictability of it all and the frequent testing that's necessary because da picks up everything going and gives it us all.

I hear you, OP.

I have what I am fairly sure is a chest infection following (PCR negative) non-Covid virus last week and similar, but different, (PCR negative) thing in early September, the minute DC went back to school.

Positive PCRs now coming in thick and fast for DC classmates and friends, and I found myself thinking earlier, “well, surely Covid won’t get me just now while I’m already ill, that would just be rudeGrin

So yes, equally fed up with the “is it, isn’t it?” dance, and also very keen on Covid following some proper rules (oh, if only)

Hope you get some certainty one way or the other and feel better soon.
