Isolation period

My dd is currently isolating until Friday 8th Oct following her positive PCR test last week. She’s had covid pretty mildly but today (day 6) has been the worst so far with her throat being very sore and a very runny nose. If she’s still feeling like this come freedom day will she need to continue isolating until better? I’m not sure what the rules are or who to call to check.

Test and trace called me today after a positive PCR on Friday. They said that if I had a runny nose, diarrhea or sneezing after the 10 days I should continue to isolate. If I have a cough or loss of taste/smell it is ok to come out of isolation after 10 days as they can carry on for a while. I hope your daughter feels better soon.

She can come out of isolation, but if she’s still not feeling well she should stay at home, like you would with a normal cold and definitely if she has a fever, but hopefully she won’t be infectious anymore. Loads of people need a few more days to recover.
