Test and trace contacts

So I tested positive and am now isolating, I got the test and trace people on to me asking questions and I told them who I had been in close contact with and when (only 2 people). The first person was contacted and is taking a test and is isolating, the second person is absolutely raging that I shared their details with t&t, and that they have to isolate. After them giving me a mouthful and telling me I'm sheep, lemming etc, I'm sat here gobsmacked, has anyone else had this reaction?

Are neither of them vaccinated? Wouldn't need to isolate if they have had 2 vaccines

BrushMySmush · 03/10/2021 17:52

Goodness me, they sound like hard work! You did the right thing, regardless of what some might say. Are they double jabbed?

SweetBabyCheeses99 · 03/10/2021 18:01

What you did was pretty rude. In what other circumstances is it ok to share someone’s personal contact details?! There’s usually some pretty strict laws about not doing this. You could’ve at least been polite enough to give them a heads up so that they could’ve blocked the call. Enforced isolation of healthy people is at best super annoying, disruptive and expensive and immoral at worst.

Don’t be ridiculous, the op did the right thing and exactly what was asked of her. If these people don’t want to be contacted by t&t they either need to get vaccinated or stop socialising with people.

1st person is double jabbed but the 2nd person refuses to have it (doesn't believe).

Tbh I was woken up by T&t and groggy whilst answering the questions. The second person was contacted before I even got off the phone with t&t.

Oh well, that's the choice they've made I suppose

Katie517 · 03/10/2021 18:35

I would never share details with track and trace. I would tell the people myself but it’s not my place to pass their details on and make them isolate when they can easily just test, being vaccinated should play no part in it since you can still catch and spread covid with the vaccine.

JanglyBeads · 03/10/2021 18:38

You’re informed several times during the contact tracing that you have to give people’s details to T&T and that you do not require their permission.

So I think the other person is the one being unreasonable! However predictable if they ‘don’t believe in all that’.

dementedpixie · 03/10/2021 18:39

@Katie517 they can't just test if they aren't vaccinated. They need to isolate if they are a close contact

Being vaccinated does reduce chances of both getting it and passing it on

Oh FFS. If you choose not to be vaccinated, you don't also get to choose whether or not your acquaintances comply with track and trace. Piss of with your guilt mongering.

I can see both sides having lost a holiday to stupid isolation. We are vaccinated but since the vulnerable were vaccinated back in January I've kind is lost interest.
