If I have already done one PCR test and it’s positive but go for a second one the next day to check and this is also positive will track and trace link the fact that I took two?

Why would you do that? I presume if you’re getting it done via the NHS/government site, it would do.

What's the point in that? If your PCR is positive you need to isolate for 10 days, even if your second PCR is negative it won't cancel out the first one.

Also you shouldn't be leaving the house after a positive PCR to go and get another one.

My experience of test and trace is that it's not particularly joined up and they have no ability to assess individual circumstances or make autonomous decisions. Unless you have been asked to get a second test then why do this? A false negative is more likely than a false positive so your isolation will still stand.

FriendshipHelp · 03/10/2021 08:36

Why do a second? If the first was positive you stilll have to isolate if he second is negative

MegaClutterSlut · 03/10/2021 11:11

I don't think you're allowed to do a 2nd pcr for 90 days? As it could still show positive unless you have symptoms again after recovering from the first bout plus its completely pointless you doing it if you've only just tested positive.

Why on earth have you taken two PCRs when the first was positive?
