Awaiting PCR after a positive LFT.
Feeling a bit sorry for myself. I’m double jabbed but my god I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus!
What day of your 10 days did you start to feel a bit better?

Sore throat, worst sore throat I've ever had and tired but other than that I was fine.

This was before i had been vaccinated and I'm a fat, asthmatic 40yo. I still managed to continue working from home throughout and felt pretty much normal by day 8.

OneToThree · 02/10/2021 09:01

Sounds like you got away quite lightly then.

I only had a very slight sniffle and a bit of a sore throat for 2 days. No other symptoms at all. That was 3 weeks ago.

Ironically I've now got a horrible cough and cold that I've got no choice but to keep spreading around school because we're short staffed due to Covid so can't have ppl staying at home for a cold. Even though the cold is far worse than Covid!

Retrievemysanity · 02/10/2021 09:05

I had horrendous nausea and stomach pains which were my first symptom. They only lasted a day. The following day I had horrendous fatigue, sore throat, lost my sense of taste and smell and had a headache. Fatigue lasted about 5 days. I still, 2 weeks later, have reduced taste and smell. Now I have more of a ‘heady’ feeling like a cold, slight headache, really thirsty all the time. I’d say I had a week of feeling really grotty. Get well soon!

Retrievemysanity · 02/10/2021 09:06

Oh yes and the cough was awful for maybe 4 days. Ok now but still the occasional coughing episode!

Paperbackmermaid · 02/10/2021 09:24

I’ve had symptoms since Tuesday and a positive pcr on Thursday.
I’m tired and I can’t smell certain things but apart from that I’m ok.
It’s only the tired that’s really an issue and it comes and goes. I felt shattered on Thursday but by yesterday afternoon more or less ok.

DrNo007 · 02/10/2021 09:27

I had it before vaccines were available. Had extreme tiredness and sore throat which did not stop me working but dragged on for days without resolving. Sought advice from a professional homeopath, took remedies, better within 48 hrs.

AlexaShutUp · 02/10/2021 09:30

Following with interest as currently awaiting a home pcr test after being in close contact with someone who tested positive. Have done lots of negative lateral flows though, so still hopeful we might not get it!Grin

Mild for me. Had a high temperature for a couple of days, blocked nose and sneezing and felt a bit rough but nothing major. I was fully back to normal after a week apart from having no sense of smell or taste, that lasted for about a month. I'm 31 and was single vaxxed when I caught it.

OneToThree · 02/10/2021 09:44

Thanks all. Just need to ride it out I guess.

BiL has just recovered he had two days off work and then was on the mend but the tiredness lingered for a long time. He tested positive 3 weeks ago and is still tired but slowly improving.

JellyTots2009 · 02/10/2021 10:00

I got covid before I got jabbed.

Started with a bunged up nose, then lost my sense of taste and smell for a day or two.

Then a fever came two days later that I couldn't shift for a week.

The tiredness/lack of energy was like nothing I've ever experienced. I could only just make it out of bed to go to the toilet and back.

I lost appetite very quickly. One day I remember I forced two biscuits down which had taken me half hour to eat.

A few days later I started with abdominal cramps and bad diarrhoea. That lasted a couple of days.

Couldn't sleep properly the whole time because when lying down I felt breathless so slept sitting up a lot.

The only thing I didn't get is the cough. Thank god I was put through the wringer with that list above.

The whole ordeal lasted 10 days but I was feeling a bit better by day 8. I turned a corner. The energy loss took over two weeks to fully come back to me. I got tired washing up.

I don't seem to have any long term covid symptoms and haven't tested positive since then. I do weekly LFT and PCR tests for work. I tested positive through a work test.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/10/2021 10:00

I had a headache and my chest felt a bit weird. But wouldn't have called in sick had I not had to. Was worse 13 days after I got symptoms, when I was out and about again.

Pollymollydolly · 02/10/2021 10:00

Not too bad, like a nasty cold. Sore throat (but not very sore), stuffy, coughing a bit and LOTS of sneezing. Able to get up and sit on sofa watch8ng crap tv feeling sorry for self! Lost smell and taste around day 4, almost back now -two weeks later - but not fully. I didn’t experience the bad headache that a lot of people have had.

I caught it from a colleague who thought they just had a cold until they were sent home and asked to get a PCR. They were also fine, just cold symptoms. A few of us got it at work and all pretty much the same. I’m actually glad it’s out of the way and my immunity has been boosted (I’m fully vaccinated).

Look after yourself and hope you feel better soon.

Angrymum22 · 02/10/2021 11:06

Mild flu for 4-5 days mainly sinusitis and headache. Left me with a bit of vertigo but otherwise back to normal after a week.
I had Covid in Feb 2020 and was double vaccinated. I think if I’d been able to work and carry on as normal I would have classified it as a heavy cold.
First time round I didn’t feel that I’ll but had horrendous cough and breathing difficulties and it seemed to go on for weeks.
I’m actually recovering from major surgery only 2 weeks post Covid and feel pretty good.

Angrymum22 · 02/10/2021 11:09

I’ll but- bad

OliveTree75 · 02/10/2021 12:49

I had it before I was vaccinated. I had a tickly cough for a day. Then had a runny nose and lost smell. I never felt unwell and was totally back to normal by day 10.
