Which vaccine? Is it the pfizer?

Or do you get the one you have had?

Vilt · 30/09/2021 19:50

My understanding is that the booster will all be Pfizer

neveradullmoment99 · 30/09/2021 19:51

Oh right. Thank you. They were happy to give me my booster today but I am not due until November and then I wondered what they would give me. I was down at the drop in clinic with my dd.

Sorry, I've just had a look to remind myself and found the following on the NHS website:

Which COVID-19 vaccine will I get?
Most people will be offered a booster dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine or Moderna vaccine.
This means your booster dose may be different from the vaccines you had for your 1st and 2nd doses.
Some people may be offered a booster dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine if they cannot have the Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine.

Well it still stands for me. I had the Az but no reason to not have the pfizer

Thanks for that :)

It'll be Pfizer or half dose Moderna, unless you can't have either for health reasons, in which case you'll have AZ. Just had my invite, it's for a centre doing Pfizer only.

DementedPanda · 30/09/2021 20:18

How did you get a booster when its not 6 months past your last vax?

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 30/09/2021 20:30

I had AZ for my first two and Pfizer for the third.

sepsisandAKI · 30/09/2021 20:32

It needs to be 6 months since you had your last vaccine. I’m surprised they gave you it!

CiderWithLizzie · 30/09/2021 20:45

The vaccine centre I went to yesterday are doing drop ins for first and second doses but boosters have to be booked in advance. I had my third Pfizer as was just over 6 months.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 30/09/2021 21:27

It doesn't say the OP got the booster. They would have done if she was six months past her second jab but she isn't so they didn't. If they had done it, she'd have an info leaflet about it.

I didn't. They asked me if I was due it. I was down at the clinic with my daughter. I said no. My last one was in June, so my booster is in November.

I'm in Scotland. It may be different here. They would have given it to me but I said it wasn't time and she agreed.
My dd (14) got her first.

The computer screen lights up like a Christmas tree if it's less than 180 days. I know, I had it happen today.

borntobequiet · 01/10/2021 08:37

I had AZ originally and Pfizer for the booster.

Did you feel OK after it?

Did you feel OK after it?

Yes, went for a walk afterwards then a warm bath and an early night to relax. Maybe a bit of a low grade headache the next day, but hard to say. Went to the gym and did a slightly reduced routine just to be on the safe side.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/10/2021 12:31

Good to know. Thanks!Smile
