Covid uncertainty

Yesterday my eldest was asked to take a test by school due to persistent cough. (It isn’t persistent at all). She went for test yesterday.

Our friends who we saw Saturday tested their year 7 child with LFT as standard and it was a strong positive. So I tested my youngest too with LFT and it was a strong positive too. So took her for PCR today bd awaiting results. In the mean time, eldest came back with negative PCR results. In was convinced they’d be positive especially since the strong positive from my youngest.

I think she had it two weeks ago. With no symptoms other than being a bit not quite herself. Like my youngest is now I suppose. They both have coughs but have had them for weeks and weeks.

LFTd eldest out of curiosity and negative.

My ex, their dad is being his usual awkward self. Not being helpful with childcare so I can work and insisting that it isn’t real and some nonsense about population control. And also announced that he lied about being vaccinated and isn’t at all. Not even one.

What on Earth is going on?!

Did you pcr test them when there coughs started weeks ago?

Its hard to tell, could be just coughs or could be you tested too late, think you are supposed to test in first 5 days or so of symptoms.
