10 Days In - Heart Racing?

Blossom4538 · 28/09/2021 15:33

Hi all,
Around 10 days since I tested and got my positive. I haven’t been too bad, but started feeling worse on Friday, a little better today. However, I’ve really noticed my heart racing/fluttering lots today (not breathless).
Anyone else had this symptom?!

Heard this shouldn't be a problem with the vaccinated so maybe speak to GP as it might be something else

Have you been taking any meds for the symptoms? Some cold and flu remedies contain ingredients that can cause odd heart racing. Definitely talk to your GP or pharmacist though if you've not experienced it before with any meds you are taking

It’s a very common symptom. My son has it and when I phoned 111 they said “oh the coronavirus galloping heart, yes”… I was monitoring him with an oxy for o2 sats and heart rate…

It’s very disconcerting. If my son has worsened (he was only 5) I would have brought him to hospital. In fact I was on the brink… but it righted itself.

I’d call 111 in your case.

Not common when vaccinated

DH had this after he thought he was getting better. Ended up in A&E as his hb went irregular, magnesium drip & antibiotics sorted it.

I had real heart irregularities after getting COVID last year, it went on for months. I am now doubly vaccinated but every so often I still get the heart flutters, apparently a common after effect.
However, it could be all sorts of other things so if it continues see if you can be checked out....

Thanks everyone.

I’ll keep a close eye on it. It’s settled a little.

I would check with GP or 111 to see what they think.

I am on about day 15 just checking at home with oximeter, most of the time my pulse is low (and I'm sadly definitely not an elite athlete) at around 55, sometimes it goes lower to like 48 and occasionally it goes up to 70. I am getting breathless/very dizzy with it but only once been lower than 93 on oximeter oxygen and that quickly reverted higher. I am double vaccinated.

Caught covid last October. Fluttering heartbeat lasted a few months especially common after even mild exertion. Very worrying to be honest.
