Can you change testing time?

Have PCR booked for myself and DC at 6pm this evening. Now looking like we can make an earlier slot which we would prefer. I can’t see anything on the booking confirmation about changing the appointment - does anyone know if it’s possible or if we just turned up early would they turn us away?

Thanks

It depends on the test centre I think. Our local one you can either just turn up and walk in or book a slot in advance. Good luck!

If its not too far away I'd just show up and ask. The pre booking is mostly so they have your details and have a rough idea of who is coming when, and to avoid queues/crowding. I went early the other day as I'd booked my appointment after my daughter's and couldn't get the same time, and it wasn't an issue

They’ll let you in by us. We were an hour early once (by mistake) and it was fine.

I didn’t want to chance it so booked a second set of tests for an earlier time. The man thought it was very funny when we arrived as our names appeared twice on his list. Think you’re right that we would have been fine without rebooking. Fingers crossed for the right result

If it's open and you turn up early they will more than likely let you in! The booking is more of a rough idea of people. They'll have the tests there and usually not a problem.

Thank you - I’ll know for next time. Almost hoping DC does have it so we can get it over and done with - feels inevitable that it will happen at some point so at least then we’ll know.
