Does anyone know? I have heard no word from DC's school.

OP posts:

My son (14) is getting his done at the local leisure centre. Caerphilly area.

yegak · 28/09/2021 18:13

My DD was vaccinated in school last week.

Whenigrowupiwanttobea · 28/09/2021 18:16

My DS has his on Thursday. (South West England). Virgin Care on doing the jab.

bonbonours · 28/09/2021 18:20

We haven't heard a thing yet :-(

tiddlysquat · 28/09/2021 20:31

Still nothing here!

Horst · 28/09/2021 20:43

20th October at our school. I consented then ds made a valid argument and I then signed a new form with no consent because his teachers have told them if I consent they cannot reject it.

degsydoodoos · 28/09/2021 21:11

We were sent a consent form last Thursday, and an email saying that they would be combining covid vaccine with flu nasal spray (well not combining but doing both at once I mean)

However DS tested positive on Sunday so I presume that means no vaccine for him at least for a few months.

MajorCarolDanvers · 28/09/2021 21:14

In Scotland

  • you can take your child to a drop in clinic
  • letters are landing now inviting them to appointments
  • there will then be a sweep up at schools in a few weeks time for those who haven't had them yet

I took my 13 yr old to a drop in clinic on Sunday so we are all done.

PlinkPlankPlunk · 28/09/2021 21:14

We got the consent form for the flu vax two weeks ago and then a few days ago the COVID one. Both vax given today

Doublechins · 28/09/2021 21:21

My sons school is doing them Thursday

aleC4 · 28/09/2021 21:23

Dd (14) has hers last Wednesday at school.

buckleten · 28/09/2021 21:24

Mine got both the covid and flu done today at school

Delphigirl · 28/09/2021 21:24

No Covid vaccine for 28 days from the date of the positive test.
MushMonster · 28/09/2021 21:25

We got a letter to attend a vaccination centre in two weeks.
Same as the ones that were sent to adults.
It looks like no long to wait.

EenyMeenyMinyNo · 28/09/2021 21:58

Today for both covid and flu, in Somerset

Tuliptulip · 28/09/2021 22:01

One DS was done last week (Covid and flu). Other DS, different school - haven’t heard anything.

Eccle80 · 28/09/2021 22:56

Not heard anything here yet. Year 8 DS just had his HPV vaccine and we’ve had the form for the flu one, though feel they should have prioritised getting Covid done over HPV. Wish we could just go to a walk in clinic

Lanique · 29/09/2021 02:09

Dd2 had hers today.

MushMonster · 29/09/2021 05:59

I am a bit confused now. In gov.uk they state you should wait one week to have the covid vaccine after having the flu one. Is that out of date advice?
I will try to link

MushMonster · 29/09/2021 06:03

It is bizarre. It says updated September 2021.
I am confused now whether there should be 7 days between them or not, but I will wait though for mine.
They have offered the flu one at the school two days after the covid. I will wait and get her the spray at the pharmacist later on.
I wish they were coherent on their advice!

BikeRunSki · 29/09/2021 06:09

DS, 13/Y7 had his at school last Thursday, 23 Sept. It was delivered by the school immunisations team. Yorkshire.

BikeRunSki · 29/09/2021 06:09

Oops, sorry m, DS is Y8.

DanglingMod · 29/09/2021 06:11

We've heard absolutely nothing from the NHS at our school. There's so much disruption to learning at the beginning of a new term - CATs tests, spelling tests, Covid tests, school photos- It'd be lovely to know what we're planning for and which groups are missing which lessons AGAIN.

THATmamaofMANY · 29/09/2021 06:15

We got the date yesterday for 15th November!
