Does anyone know? I have heard no word from DC's school.

My sons’ school is doing them next Monday.

Mumski45 · 27/09/2021 17:42

My 2 DS are having it on 7th Oct

Annamariefl · 27/09/2021 17:44

I work in a school; we were notified the 2nd week in September and start vaccinating from 5th October

loveandroses · 27/09/2021 17:45

Thank you so much! This is great to know.

Our secondary child had today.

Very low uptake apparently so they might come round again in a month.

NothingIsWrong · 27/09/2021 18:36

My DD is this Wednesday

Megistotherium · 27/09/2021 18:36

Next week in our dc's school.

Megistotherium · 27/09/2021 18:38

Sorry, this week, actually. Letter sent last Friday to consent.

TheCatsPjammas · 27/09/2021 19:46

Not heard anything yet. Depends where you are in the country. It all seems very random.. no urgency from the top to get it done. I emailed The county CCG and was told ‘your school will be sending information in the coming weeks’

Suitably vague. So how can your interpret that ? Late October/November.

Hamjamwich · 27/09/2021 22:57

Ours was today but some haven't had it done, as there was not enough time

MrsLCSofLichfield · 27/09/2021 23:13

I have no idea. No one tells me anything.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 27/09/2021 23:19

DDs school is doing it tomorrow but she's off with Covid.
At least in my area if you miss the schools date, local walk-in centres and GP surgeries aren't involved in vaccination of 12-15 year olds so you have to wait until the school have the vaccination team in again. Also you have to wait a month after having covid

pontypridd · 27/09/2021 23:57

No mention of anything from our school. Nothing at all. I wonder if they're trying to avoid having to do it.

Sockwomble · 28/09/2021 00:01

I haven't heard anything from ds's school. Ds is CV and but has not been offered a vaccine by GP either. So much for most vulnerable first.

Kitcat122 · 28/09/2021 06:16

It's the NHS rolling it out not schools. I'm guessing it will vary the same as it did for adults and 16s.

Oblomov21 · 28/09/2021 07:09

No mention here.
Only for the flu nasal spray.

megletthesecond · 28/09/2021 07:14

DS's secondary in Hampshire is doing it this Thurs / Friday.

TheCatsPjammas · 28/09/2021 07:36

Why has the gov decided that it’s the English schools immunisation team that must roll it out ? The gov doc was published on sept 15th. It just seems like a ‘slow’ way to go about it. In Scotland there are drop in centres.

I guess too schools are wary about making dates widely known in advance in case they end up with protests outside their schools.

I think I would like to hear the ‘logic’ by the approach chosen by dept of health. I’d much prefer to have a drop in centre as an option.

Sockwomble · 28/09/2021 08:04

"No mention here.
Only for the flu nasal spray."

We've had the flu spray consent form but not the covid vaccine one. I know the covid vaccine one has gone out in some schools in the county and they started jabbing yesterday. It would be good if they (each area) made it clearer what was happening so people don't start thinking they have been missed. Ds has already been missed by the GP route who are now not doing them and since he attends a non LA school I am wondering if he will be missed again.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 28/09/2021 09:49

8th October in my area.

Y7 Dc1's still 11 so no idea if the consent forms have gone out yet. We've been told we'll be sent the form 2 weeks before she turns 12 & that they'll be holding clinics every 2 months once those already 12 & over are out of the way, so I'm expecting she'll have had hers by late spring.

GarfieldGirl · 28/09/2021 10:04

This week and I'm yet to sign the consent form. I genuinely don't know what to do!!

MrsMariaReynolds · 28/09/2021 10:09

DS's secondary just announced a date of 21 October. At this rate, half the school will be out or recently infected with Covid by that time. Infections have really picked up in the past week.

Watsername · 28/09/2021 18:08

DS (13) was jabbed yesterday. He had nasal flu spray at the same time.

GoodnightGrandma · 28/09/2021 18:11

We started last week.

GoodnightGrandma · 28/09/2021 18:12

They’re trying to do 48 hour turn around of the consent where I’m working, so you’ll get it very close to the day.
