DD PCR positive - work/isolation payment

Hi everyone

My eldest DD has just had a positive PCR result today. My question is has anyone had a child test positive and then stayed off work to look after them, and claimed the £750 isolation support payment? I'm not able to work from home and I receive working tax credits - which make me eligible. Has anyone been in the same situation and been declined? Worried as to what to do as I can't afford to lose a week's wages as I legally don't have to isolate so my work won't pay me. Thanks.

Surely that’s for the person isolating and not the parent required to look after them?

You take unpaid parental leave to cover your child sickness.

Same as everyone else in that position.

Do you mean the £500 payment? Might be more outside England...

Parents are eligible under certain circumstances, detailed on the link.

It's for the parents of a child who's tested positive, up to year 11, I've just checked on the website.

I should be eligible as I am on a low wage and claim working tax, just wanted to see if anyone else has any experience of it.

It recently increased to £750 in Wales.

Makes sense, the Wales government has always done more to help people.

I don't have experience of claiming it, but on the information given, you do qualify.
