Slow recovery anyone?

My isolation finishes today and I'm surprised at how awful I feel still. I've had both vaccines so assumed I would bounce back quite quickly. Not so.

I'm very breathless and struggle to talk very much. I had a decent sleep last night but was already fast asleep on the sofa again by 10am today. I'm supposed to be going back to work on Wednesday but there is no way I will manage that level of activity (I'm a primary school teacher - reception class).

If your recovery was slow, how did you manage your return to work?

We have a thread called lingering symptoms with a few of us bewailing longer term symptoms. Lots of us felt as you do - it's underplayed that the 10 days is not enough for may people to recover to health.
Come and join us if you like!

I am feeling the same @desperate4spring.
Secondary teacher here too, due back on Thursday. Do we have to get a sick note if we have extra time off work? I am assuming we do.

My head said that I would need a dr's note for any further the me off, unless there were work-related tasks I could complete from home instead of teaching in class.
