Symptoms returning a week later

My toddler tested positive a couple of weeks ago, finished his isolation on 16th Sep and has been fine since. His original symptoms were cough and runny nose.

This weekend he has a really runny nose again and has started to cough more. It feels like it's come back but I didn't think that could happen so soon?

Other son was poorly this weekend (negative covid test) but no cough or cold so doesn't seem to be the same thing.

I don't know what to think - does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

This happened to me. I tested positive, was poorly for about ten days and then returned to work. A couple of days later I started with bad cold symptoms and back to feeling crap. This lasted about about another week and then I got better.

I'm not sure if it was the Covid having a resurgence or something or if I was just unlucky and got a cold straight after, but it wasn't much fun.

Any advice on if he needs to isolate again or can I just put this down to a cold and cough? He does seem to have a bit of a weakness for coughs so suspect it's a result of the code (hopefully).

A lot of colds going about at the minute so I think it’ll be the cold the 2nd time .

I'm getting over covid and I've now developed a cold. I think my immune system is so buggered by covid that I'm susceptible to anything at the moment so I'm trying to eat properly, drink loads of water get plenty of sleep etc. to build it back up.

Yeah I'm hoping it is just a cold. His cough really seems to start at night time, he has such bad coughing fits and nearly makes himself sick. It's horrible to see, especially when I thought we were through it!

When DS was 18 months he went to nursery one day a week. He’d pick up a cold, miss the next week as poorly and then pick up another cold the next week. The cycle went on all winter till we took him out of nursery. I’d suspect it’s just another cold.
