Tests taken to Lab?

Might be a completely random question but, does anyone know how often they collect up all the covid tests done at the local sites and transport them to the labs?
Wondering if the time of day you take your test makes a difference to how long the results take to be processed?
For example there would be no benefit in booking the earliest possible slot if they only transport the tests to the lab say once at lunch time and then once at end of the day?

I was wondering exactly the same, as I've been in a testing centre today. No idea...

There was a courier waiting outside the centre when I arrived at 10.30 today. While we were taking our tests the guy inside took the box out to him and brought back an empty box (I was gutted he didn't wait to send ours with the courier!). The day before we had tested at 3.30 ish and my parents at 5ish and we all got our results at about the same time this morning (2 inconclusive so had to retest today). So I would say they have multiple pickups.

They will have a set amount of spaces in the machines, so depends if you make the batch
