Am day 7 (8th day of symptoms) but am back to testing LFT negative - wondering if I can mix more in the house

Started symptoms last Sunday, so 8th day if having covid (so official day 7) but my LFT has come in negative this morning. Surely this has to mean that I am not very infectious at the moment?

My son has stayed negative through out so I am wondering if I could relax a bit about staying away from him, wearing a mask on my few forays downstairs etc

Any views?

Personally for another 2 days, I wouldn’t, but depends on age of DS and if he’s struggling with no contact with you.

Maybe that’s right. It is three more days though as first day of symptoms is day 0.

Was thinking that as I’m not shedding enough virus to trigger the test, it would be ok, but perhaps that is a bit punchy

I wouldn't yet. The LFT don't show very soon in the infection(if at all). Some people miss it entirely so I'd still be careful.

LFTs aren’t very accurate in the first place so I wouldn’t rely on them tbh
