I had Covid just over a month ago, despite being double jabbed. Felt rotten but don’t think it was a particularly bad case (no cough, fever). However five weeks on I still feel pretty rough. It’s mainly tiredness (mental brain fog that hits me in the afternoon more than physical but both), aches around my ribs, dizziness and painful glands in neck. The symptoms come and go and some days are better than others. Generally I’m getting better rather than worse but it’s very very slow.

I’ve been working from home in a busy role but it’s meant I can have a rest or nap in the afternoon. I’ve been in a couple of times which has completely wiped me out for a few days. However, I’m struggling to cope - I find if I have to speak to people in the afternoon I get very irritated with them and last week I got upset with my manager.
I’m just not sure whether I just take time off properly and see if that helps, or try to arrange some kind of part time hours or just push through (with rests in the day) and hope it gets better. There’s a lot of politics which I can’t be doing with, but also if I take too much time off it would be very hard to come back to it all ..

What I wanted to ask what worked for others who’ve had covid and also what didn’t work?
I know it seems I’ve barely even time off sick before (lucky me I know) so not really sure what to do although I know no-one else can tell me! I’ve only actually taken 3 days off sick with it so think i can self certificate for a bit longer if I need to then would need to get docs note so maybe they’d advise me..

If you are struggling, get a doctors certificate for 2 weeks, I think tiredness is the main ongoing symptom. Unless you are able to do less hours each day. My friend had to have 2 lots of 2 weeks off as she still felt so tired. She was so much better having no pressure from work for those weeks and she is a workaholic who hates sitting around, but she just didn’t have the energy.
