Has anyone had their 3rd covid vaccine yet?

I am getting mine tomorrow and wondering about the side effects of the third shot ?
Has anyone had any adverse side effects ?

Interested to know this too - mine is next week. I wonder if the vaccines you had before makes a difference? I have had 2 Pfizer’s.

Changeisneeded · 25/09/2021 17:02

I’ve just had mine and so far it feels similar to my past doses so fingers crossed it stays the same!

My arm is sore but it was after previous Pfizer doses!

MrsWorriedMother · 25/09/2021 17:17

I also had Pfizer previously

Will report back after tomorrow evening

So nearly 24 hours after my booster my arm is sore, I felt a tiny bit ropey yesterday night but basically I’ve felt similar to how I felt after dose one and two!

All three doses are Pfizer

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 26/09/2021 13:44

That’s good to hear change. I’ve got my third tomorrow and booked a meeting I can’t really miss on Tuesday so hoping it’ll be similar to my first 2 doses.

TheQueef · 26/09/2021 13:45

My Ddad had his yesterday.
He had AZ for 1&2 so had Pfizer booster.
He feels the same as his jab1 so arm ache and a bit off but no real effects to mention.
Hope that's typical for everyone fingers crossed!

Blankspace4 · 26/09/2021 13:46

Is the effectiveness the same if you’ve had 2 AZ and then your booster is Pfizer?

Are there any studies on this?

Dogatetheleftovers · 26/09/2021 13:46

How were you all contacted about your booster jab? I’m waiting for one but my GP surgery are just saying they’ve heard nothing yet!

Lindy2 · 26/09/2021 13:49

My mum had hers a couple of days ago.

She's had Pfizer for all 3 of her jabs although she was told that the booster would be either Pfizer or AZ.

She's fine. The injection site is a little warm and tender and she can feel a 2p size bit of swelling around the injection site but other than that she is perfectly ok.

It's a very slightly bigger reaction than to the first 2 jabs as she barely reacted at all to those, but in no way a significant reaction at all.

TheQueef · 26/09/2021 13:49

Ddad got a text and booked online on the national booking site.
He's 78 so age qualified.
Have you tried the national Leftovers the one you put NHS number in?

Lindy2 · 26/09/2021 13:52

@Dogatetheleftovers

How were you all contacted about your booster jab? I’m waiting for one but my GP surgery are just saying they’ve heard nothing yet!
She had a text to book on the NHS booking system. Her GP surgery were one of the first to get going when the vaccinations started last December. It looks like they've been quick off the mark with the boosters too.
Changeisneeded · 26/09/2021 14:05

So my first two were done by nhs as I work for them however I am in group 6 and so 6 months post second vaccine I got the text and as work hadn’t started doing it I booked on.

Nhs staff need to go via work and boosters for those in the priority groups get messaged out (I would say automatically). You won’t be able to book until 6 months has passed though

MrsWorriedMother · 26/09/2021 17:49

Just back from having my third. It was Pfizer like the other two. I also work for the nhs so has my first two via work but booster was through a text from GP surgery.
My husband came with me but he is three days off six months since second one so they wouldn't do it.

If it has been less than three days they would have done his as well even without an appointment. He is nearly 60 with underlying health conditions so she said they will probably call him for his next week.

Will report back tomorrow with any side effects. I didn't have any with first two Pfizer so fingers crossed it will the same. x

I had mine today along with my flu jab Shock
My first two were AZ so don't know whether I'll react or not.
Mine's because I'm 50+ and immunosuppressed.

CiderWithLizzie · 26/09/2021 18:19

I’m 54 and just post 6 months from second jab. I didn’t receive a text or anything but managed to book via nhs vaccine site.

checkedcloth · 26/09/2021 19:15

I had my booster this morning, 3rd dose of Pfizer.

My arm is a little heavy and I’ve I’m a little achy. Got a bit of a headache but hoping I’ll be all
Ok tomorrow

erictries · 26/09/2021 19:19

Just had my Covid booster ( Pfizer) and flu jabs on Friday night. I didn't have any side effects last time, apart from a slightly sore arm.
Yesterday ( Saturday) I was wiped out. I slept for 5 hours solid during the day, then a full night's sleep. I feel fine now

TheQueef · 27/09/2021 07:32

I thought we couldn't have covid + flu jabs on the same day this year because of side effect reporting for the covid vaccine?
Is that rhubarb then?

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 27/09/2021 07:38

My two sore arms say it's rhubarb TheQueef

starfish4 · 27/09/2021 07:42

Changeisneeded my friend's DH works for NHS and had his invite via GP, nothing from work yet! Getting it done this week!

lunar1 · 27/09/2021 07:42

DH had his third Pfizer and flu shot together last week. Only complaint was a slightly sore arm.

MrsWorriedMother · 27/09/2021 07:45

So had my third dose of Pfizer at 5:00pm yesterday.
No side effects at all to report. Not even a sore arm

TheQueef · 27/09/2021 07:45

Thanks! I need to apologise Blush I asked at my Ddads doctors if he could have both and the receptionist told me that ^^ I've been admonishing him for telling me his chums have an appointment for both!

ExConstance · 27/09/2021 16:01

Just a sore arm for me. It was my third dose of Pfizer. I'll have my flu jab a little later.

CiderWithLizzie · 28/09/2021 22:21

Flu jab last night for me - no side effects snd third covid booster tomorrow evening - really hope no side effects from that either. I had no effects after the first one but felt ill for 24 hours after the second one.
