If you are double Pfizer jabbed, had DC with covid and then you tested positive, how many days after was that?

Hi

My DC is day five positive. I feel like absolute shit, headache, nausea, muscle ache particularly my back.

I had my second Pfizer months ago but wonder - if you caught it off your DC whilst double Pfizer jabbed, on what day did you show up positive?

Thanks. X

The next day! You should get tested, sounds like you may have it.

You can still catch it but being double jabbed should protect you from serious illness. Unfortunately you can still feel utterly rubbish and not be seriously ill.

Vaccination also seems to reduce the length of the illness. I had Covid before vaccination was available and was really rough for 3 weeks with a slow recovery back to full health over a few months. Jabbed friends seems to be rough for a week and then ok again. The vaccination is making a real difference.

I think the average time to show symptom is 5 days after infection. Your DC might have been infectious though earlier than you realised.

You should get a test asap. I hope you all feel better soon.

My daughter tested positive and then 9 days later I tested positive. Double Pfizer jabbed (second jab in July). I recommend you get a PCR as soon as possible.

Thanks. I’ve been having negative lateral flows but have booked a pcr now

Does this look positive? There is a line but it’s below the T

I can’t see a line on that test personally. Looks negative..

RandomMess · 24/09/2021 14:39

Once you have symptoms LFT aren't worth doing!

DH didn't catch it at all.

I started symptoms a couple of days after my youngest but 3 of us all tested positive the same day as didn't realise a headache was a symptom until I got the sinus pain of doom...

OddestSock · 24/09/2021 15:34

Dd2 tested positive 11 Septmber, DD1 14 September. I tested positive 20 September.

I haven't had a positive LFT at all though, just the PCR (negative on PCRs taken 12 & 15 Sept)

cttontail · 24/09/2021 16:27

3 days later. She'd slept in my bed 2 nights before getting her positive. I've been quite poorly with it.

Neighneigh · 24/09/2021 16:34

4 days later and I'm double vaccinated but AZ. Currently feels like a bad, achey cold....Ds had a positive lateral flow on Sunday, positive PCR Monday morning. My PCR on Monday was negative, I got symptoms on Thursday morning, lateral tested Thurs evening and ker-boom I'm positive. Am so so annoyed because I was doing really well with my running and I hated it for so many months, but had just started to feel like I could do it. Arse.

APeakyBlinder · 24/09/2021 16:53

Day 6 for me

WhoWants2Know · 24/09/2021 17:00

To me, that test looks like it has a faint line below the T. Can you take another?

Actually that’s not true re LFTs. They’re better with people who have symptoms.

They’re crap tests but the government had to do something so they Chuck them out for “just in case” testing.

OP you should get a PCR as you’ve been in contact with someone who’s got covid.

Didiplanthis · 24/09/2021 17:19

I tested positive 2 days after dd, my DH also double jabbed tested positive 10 days after... he also at time had a test showing he had a good antibody response to his vaccinations... that worked well then ! (It was too soon to show antibodies from his infection) ... while not seriously ill, it was still very unpleasant for us both.

Didiplanthis · 24/09/2021 17:20

Also my LFT didn't go positive until 2 days after my PCR...

Said everyone for the last 18 months

Hi. My pcr is negative but my chest is so tight this morning. I can’t believe I feel this shit and haven’t got it! Thank god for vaccines, I can’t imagine looking after kids having caught badly in the pre jab days. My other DC vommitted three times yesterday so am assuming she has got it, as heard gastric can be the symptoms in the littlies ones x
