Bloody Covid. Feeling fed up.

DS2 tested positive on his lateral flow yesterday. He had his PCR today and we're waiting for the results. I fully expect a positive result. They also offered me a test. My lateral flow was negative, as was DS1.

This is the second time he's had it and it's making me feel horribly anxious.

By some miracle, the last time Covid came a-calling neither me nor DH succumbed. But both DSs did. They didn't have it badly.

So this time I'm freaking out that DH and I will end up really poorly. I'm double vaccinated but DH hasn't had his second yet.

I'm also meant to be having an interview on Monday for a job I'd really love to get.

I just needed a moan coz I'm feeling really hacked off.

Moan away - I'm hearing you.

I'm currently positive and just hoping and praying that nobody else in the family gets it. All negative so far and I'm on day 4.
Dh is being an arse, minimising it and telling me I'm overreacting when I don't want him to come and stand right next to me in the garden and telling everyone it's just like a cold and I'm fine (which is largely true but a teeny bit of sympathy wouldn't go amiss)
I'm a teacher so still planning for supply and trying to do other work at home. People (yes, SIL here's looking at you) are telling me they wish they could have 10 days at home without any jobs to do. Ha bloody ha - I'll swap.

I hope the rest of you stay healthy and ds isn't poorly for long. And good luck with your job interview.

I'm with you. I'm on day 4 of Covid, caught off DS1. Im 48 double jabbed. So far DS2 or DH dont have it. Ds on day 6.

DS2 caught Covid last year and we all avoided it though.
Hopefully you'll be lucky!

Thank you.

I just cannot believe he’s got it AGAIN!! It’s so bonkers I could weep!

I hear you on the moaning - I’m meant to be having an embryo transfer on Monday but teaching in a school with a major outbreak (1 in 3 kids off, so upwards of 600 students) and feel like I am doomed to catch the wretched thing. Solidarity hugs.

I've had to take the week off, so God knows how you're coping. Today was the first day I could get out of bed for a brief while. No way could I work.

Thank you.

Let's hope he doesn't have it again. I was convinced DS2 had it again but PCR was negative yest (tho realise we are not out the woods).
Jelly0naplate · 23/09/2021 21:27

When did your son have it last time? You can test positive for 90 days after you've had it

middleager · 23/09/2021 21:38

He had it 10 months ago, but so far he's ok.

LyndaSnellsSniff · 24/09/2021 07:18

Negative!

That's good news!
My Dh is now positive, still waiting for results of the dcs PCRs. Ds1 I'm hoping will dodge it as he only had it in July. Ds2 not so sure he'll avoid it this time.

mamaduckbone · 26/09/2021 13:12

Ds2 positive ffs. So sick of this.

Wow, that's a crazy number of people off! Where in the country are you? Really, really hope you manage to go to your ET tomorrow, everything crossed for you!
Verbena87 · 26/09/2021 13:48

Midlands. It’s a bit scary. However, I seem to be ok so will take all the crossed fingers to clinic tomorrow - thank you!

mamaduckbone · 26/09/2021 13:49

Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

Autumngoldleaf · 26/09/2021 13:59

We've also got second dc down but touch wood ok so far, not well but I've seen her worse.

Just waiting for it to get me.
I had negative pcr but any day I could catch this or may be incubating it right now m

StarDanced · 26/09/2021 15:21

I got a positive result today (double jabbed). DS is negative. Waiting on DH's results but lateral flow was negative. Hoping baby DS doesn't get it as I'm breastfeeding and can't isolate from him. Annoying timing as I had a much delayed hospital appointment this week. Fingers crossed it is not pushed back another 4 months.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 26/09/2021 15:30

I've had both children test positive. One had symptoms for a few hours, one completely asymptomatic. Now full of beans and bouncing off the walls... for the next 10 days.

DH gets to stay at work (not allowed home) and have fun while I'm at home with them.
I'll relax a bit after supermarket delivery comes, I'm paranoid they will out of fuel.
