I had the Pfizer 7 days a go, had usual headaches sorry arm, but now I have this unbelievable dizziness/lightheaded like I'm drunk! I know this is the side affects as I've never had this before! I feel like I've got a full head like when you get blocked ears on a flight.
Or I'm swaying like on a rocky boat!
I will admit I don't drink enough water, maybe I need to up that.
I'm trying my best to get on with me I feel like I'm spinning out for most of my day.
I'm single parent too and have no one to help
Look after my kids so I have to be ok ! Is my GP worth speaking to as I doubt they will agree it's vaccine related!
Has anyone else had this ? What's helped u or cured it ? Thankyou x

I have labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis due to Covid. I also had BPPV, but the balance specialist did a set of Epley manoeuvres that helped with that. I used prochlorperazine at first, but longer term if it doesn't improve you need vestibular rehab therapy via ENT/balance specialist and occular vestibular rehab exercises (there are videos of how to do these on YouTube). Mine has got much better over time, but I still have bad days 9 months on.

pureofmind · 25/09/2021 11:39

Thanks so much @Choconuttolata should I ask my doctor to be referred for this therapy or ask to be referred to ENT?
I will try the manoeuvres at home if I can.
I will
Try anything x

The GP has to refer, but they will probably want to give it a few weeks to see if it will settle down first.

pureofmind · 25/09/2021 17:29

Thanks I am praying it does settle on its on z

Now been admitted to hospital for the dizziness, head pressure & headaches now. Went to gp after a bad wknd and he wasn't happy and said he doesn't think it's ear infection thinks it's an infection in my body maybe ?

Not sure why and doesn't think it's vaccine related but may need a head scan ? He said he think it's labrynthitis but wants to take precaution. Waiting on blood results and doctors.

Oh no I hope you are ok! My dr also said wasn’t vaccine related but I 100% believe it was. But that doesn’t matter now. I’m glad you are being monitored! Take care!

JS87 · 27/09/2021 21:06

Hope you feel better soon. When you do I definitely recommend filling in a yellow card report as that’s the only way they will work out whether these are side effects or not.

JS87 · 27/09/2021 21:09

It’s not our or the gps job to decide if something is due to the vaccine. We simply report it and eventually analysis of all the reported side effects will be able to determine if these things are happening at a greater than normal frequency and are side effects or not.

Pootle40 · 27/09/2021 22:25

Those are all symptoms of anxiety itself. Often mistaken for an ear infection. Unfortunately it's the power of your brain. You will be overthinking the jab if you are someone with health anxiety. Sorry to be blunt but I've been there.

Pootle40 · 27/09/2021 22:27

The dizziness and feeling like you can't hear properly are top anxiety symptoms. A feeling of skipped heartbeat, flu like body aches, and head rushes feeling like your head has jerked when it hasn't at all.

Googleboxfan · 27/09/2021 22:31

Hi. I had dizziness and light headedness after I had the Moderna vaccine. Had dizziness and light head for about 3 weeks. Saw GP who said they could do nothing.

Finally I decided to take 2 Ibuprofen and that worked within about 2 hours. It had all gone.

Let me know how you get on

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 27/09/2021 22:36

I had this after the AZ, took a full week to settle down and 2 weeks before I felt completely right. Nothing after my second jab.

Confused10101 · 27/09/2021 23:43

@pureofmind hope you find some answers as to what’s causing this. Take care…

Cantspeakpublic · 28/09/2021 00:00

Glad there are more saying same as me. Not anxiety at all! Mine just went away too and was most odd

TempNameChangexx · 28/09/2021 00:20

I get BPPV - it's definitely worth trying the exercises you do yourself (I did these ones: www.pennine-gp-training.co.uk/res/BPPV%20self%20rx%20PIL.pdf and they sort it out
I've had it flare up 3 times in about 15 years
I found the antisickness meds didn't really stop the fear that I had as I thought I was going to fall all the time (lying down in bed or going downstairs was the worst for me)

pureofmind · 28/09/2021 00:33

Thankyou all
I had a miscarriage 3 weeks ago 8 hours waiting today and doctor seems to think it's BPPV or labrynthitis and all my urine and bloods were clear. I have high blood pressure though. I have to go back to GP to be to referred to ENT I am grateful it's all clear but I could cry thinking his constant dizziness is here for ages Waitin for ent x

I found using pillows to prop myself up at night helped as going from lying down to standing was the worst.

TamanTun · 01/10/2021 14:36

I had that after my vaccine, it's turned out to be anxiety, probably related to worry about the vaccine. Still have it now months later, I was convinced it was the vaccine but I now really think it was and still is anxiety, didn't know it can make you dizzy.

naturemumma · 01/10/2021 15:31

I didn’t have this after the vaccine, but have had it with covid and lots of other people seem to have done too. I don’t think it can be anxiety with me because I’m always anxious 😂 and I’ve never had this as an anxiety symptom. But I did have something similar after a sinus infection last year. It’s really grotty, I sympathise. Hope you feel much better soon. I second the tip to sleep sitting up a bit - that’s helped me quite a bit and it is easing.

Starrr123 · 13/02/2022 23:05

@pureofmind how are you now ? Xx

Starrr123 · 13/02/2022 23:06

@Choconuttolata how are you now ? I have been like this since covid :( im so sick of it. What helped you the most xx

ShineTogether · 13/02/2022 23:22

Sorry you're going through this OP. Glad you got into hospital and being seen.
I had this some years ago and it was Ménière's disease. Unusual in anyone under 80 but sounds the same so wanted to put it out there. Strong link to migraines if you get those.
Get well soon

Starrr123 · 13/02/2022 23:36

@ShineTogether hi! Did u get awful ear pain with that or no? X
