Bleeding from injection site?

DS had his covid vaccine today (decided the covid risk was higher than the vaccine risks, but wasn’t 100% comfortable with it) however, I was quite shocked by the amount of blood on the cotton wool from the injection site. He's very skinny, so I’ve been worrying by self silly that he’s been accidentally injected into the bloodstream rather than the muscle.

Can anyone tell be that I’m being stupid, or should I be worried?

it's fine. i volunteered at a vaccine centre and this was relatively common (i myself even got a a bit of bleeding). As long as it stops within a few minutes it's nothing to worry about.

More likely to happen if you were a bit hot or quite anxious as blood pressure gets higher.

He will be fine. if he continued to bleed more than a few minutes then i would see a doctor as you're not clotting right

You only need a little blood to make it look like a lot, as long as it’s stopped bleeding, it should be fine.

Thank you. That’s reassuring. I’m not totally comfortable, but my head tells me it’s the right thing to do. I don’t remember getting this with any vaccines before, so worried after all the blood clot talks
