Reinfections not counted in data

Curious if this is general knowledge?
The daily data doesnt include reinfections. So if you test positive for second time that wont count in data. Anyone that dies from second infection wont count in deaths either.
I wish we could see this data. How many people are getting reinfected ? How many reinfected people have dies?

I’m intrigued. Where has this info come from?

Although you could certainly argue it could be more accessible, data on reinfections is in fact published in the weekly surveillance report from PHE

@MarcelineMissouri

Thank you

So up to mid august over 45k people have tested positive again (with more than 90 days between the first positive and the reinfected positive.
Data on deaths doesnt seam to have anything that would show deaths from reinfection.

Will be interesting to see how time impact the reinfection numbers (these should benupdated monthly)

Someone I knew in hospital in the 2nd wave was tested regularly while in there (back then the rule was discharge only after 2 negative swabs which they then realised was not workable because of the false positive testing later in the course).

Now someone I know was in hospital with it last month, they had a swab on admission and they did have some further swabs but these do not appear on their hospital record and they were told that the further swabs were for research purposes only. Happily they did not die but it seems very wrong that had they died after 28 days (and things were touch and go at around 20 days) they would not have counted in the stats from what I understand.

Also, their admission says "pneumonia" with no mention of Covid as that was only confirmed post admission. I also wonder if such cases therefore get missed out of the hospitalised with Covid cases that are reported?
