Really hurts to swallow...ouch! That's the only symptom though.

I've lft tested and negative and have had a pcr today routine for work so I guess I'll see soon anyway but just curious.

I jave felt like this all week with shocking sore throat and swollen glands. I did a LFT which was negative as I have felt a bit up and down all week (husband felt like that when he had covid last year). I have just had flu jab but I have never had a reaction to it before. 🤧

Yes LFT are meant to be for asymptomatic cases only. So if you have a sore throat plus one of the Covid symptoms such as temp, headache or cough then it should be a PCR.

DD only had a sore throat and positive PCR. A slight cough developed a few days after the test.
A sore throat is a known symptom of delta variant, even if the government hasn't seen fit to update the gov website with the widely acknowledged delta symptoms.

Two of my DC had this as only symptom

The sore throat was my first symptom of Covid followed by a tickly cough, then a fever and a hacking cough and now I have the sneezes. Also feel like I have been run over. Stuff aches all the time.

Also lfts can be unreliable I would get a pcr to be sure.

My DD and DH are both ill. Really sore throat, headache, then sneezes sneezes sneezes, wiped out, achy. But it seems to be just a lurgy as they have both had negative PCRs! Amazed me as I had most of the same symptoms in August when I had covid.

Interestingly I don’t seem to have caught whatever this lurgy is yet.

I read that LFTs might not pick up the virus once symptoms have started as the viral load will have dropped. They are for the incubation period which is 1-2 days after contact with an infected person and up to start of symptoms. If symptomatic you need the stronger PCR test.

I read that LFTs might not pick up the virus once symptoms have started as the viral load will have dropped.

Most people I know who get symptoms take an LFT first and when that shows up positive they go and get a PCR.

I understand that PCR is a lot more reliable, but in my experience, the LFTs can and so detect Covid in symptomatic people.
