I am taking DS5 for a PCR at 7pm. Not ideal but it was the only appointment available.

Any tips for making swabbing as painless as possible? I've had to do it once before so he knows what's coming and I'm dreading it 😩 he's got a sore throat and temp.

Oh no! What do you have at your disposal? Garden? Toys? Books? Amazon prime?!

yellowgecko · 22/09/2021 16:35

@DownWhichOfLate we have all the tv subscriptions 🙈 tiny garden tho. If we go on the fields and avoid human contact do you think that will be allowed to stretch him out? He'll literally fester in front of the telly otherwise Sad
It's so shit; he was literally then settling into school and making friends.

When we tested I only managed a couple of seconds in each nostril, but it was still good enough to get a positive result on my youngest. Middle child managed to spill the liquid out of the tube, it barely went in her nose, and refused to do tonsils as had been vomiting, and again came back positive (but took a few hours longer than the others to come back so must have been in the maybe/double check pile).

Oh no hope your lo recovers quickly.

DownWhichOfLate · 22/09/2021 20:41

Oh dear. I suppose it depends where the fields are! Is it ten days from symptoms?

talkalarm · 22/09/2021 21:09

Oh no you poor things. Hope he's better soon.

Have you got the GoNoodle app? It's been a while since I used it but it's got good fun exercise things on. Or Google kids yoga and such?

@Daisy829 thanks, me too!

He's been awake coughing since 4am. Hoping I can convince him To nap later. No other symptoms though, I am worried it will affect his breathing. He had respiratory issues as a baby so I don't trust his lung capacity!

@DownWhichOfLate they're literally over the fence...but there are footpaths round them which dog walkers use, and he hates dogs 🙈

@talkalarm thanks for that, I will check it out!

PCR tests are on order for DH and me...!
