Has anyone had covid and NOT passed it on to their children?

Me and DP are positive but children so far are negative.

I'm so worried about passing it on to them I know the chances are they will be OK with it.

They're off school because me and DP are obviously isolating and can't get them in so I don't want them to become positive and then have to miss another 10 says of school.

Is there a chance we won't pass it on? They're 6,7 and 11 so not really old enough to fend for themselves. Grin

Me and DH had it 8 year old caught it but 3 year old didn't.

EllieSattler · 21/09/2021 10:44

DH and I had Covid. If the DC got it they were totally asymptomatic. (This was last October so no LF tests at home).

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 21/09/2021 10:46

My 10 year old got it and didn't pass it on, I got it a few months later and didn't pass it on then my 18 year old got it about 6 weeks later. As far as we know none of us passed it to the 8 year old either but he could have been asymptomatic

ElfDragon · 21/09/2021 10:47

I had it last year, and then exH a bit after me. Dc moved between both houses, and none of them had any symptoms at all. They may have had it asymptomatically, but none of them were ill at all.

Someone at work got COVID as did her whole family, they all had symptoms and we were all advised by upper management to get tested, since we had worked the same shift as her.

All of my family and the rest of the shift at work and the people I had spent the weekend with, before testing, all tested negative.

I have spent the last 10 days in my house with no symptoms whatsoever and nobody else has got it.

poorbuthappy · 21/09/2021 12:03

Backwards I'll grant you - 3 kids had it, me and DH didn't. And this included a 2 day away (should have been 7 dammit) in a bloody small caravan with a 4 hour drive there and back!

maxineputyourredshoeson · 21/09/2021 12:05

DH, MIL (whose living with us at the moment) and DD1 positive, me and DD2 negative - we all had exactly the same symptoms. DH, MIL and me all double jabbed.

irregularegular · 21/09/2021 12:06

Not me ( we had the other way round) but I certainly know people who have.

Abraxan · 21/09/2021 12:22

In October I had Covid. Didn't pass it to dh (who shared same bed and room) or teen Dd. We didn't isolate or distance from one another.

NewLevelsOfTiredness · 21/09/2021 13:02

My SD10 got it, infected her mum and our 2 year old. but none of them managed to infect SD6 or me. We were in no way isolating from each other either.

Both kids completely fine throughout.

Vanillaradio · 21/09/2021 13:53

Dh and I had covid. Dh had symptoms, I was asymptomatic. We decided not to test ds unless he had symptoms (it was over summer holidays 2020 so didn't affect school) but he never got any so he either never caught it or was asymptomatic like me.

Lushmetender · 21/09/2021 13:59

Anyone have it the other way around? All DC have it but not the parents? We’ve had covid in the house 2 weeks. Lots of negative LFTs and 2 neg PCRs. DD3 comes out of isolation on Saturday?

CrumpleHornedSnowcack · 21/09/2021 14:05

thread is giving me hope, DSS tested positive last Friday having spent Thursday night with us. He's fine but DH & I are testing daily & crossing everything we have

FiveIsMoreFun · 21/09/2021 14:10

Work colleague, his wife, and her father had it last month. They were all ill in bed and their two teenage DC looked after them. The DCs tested negative the whole time.
Also, the adults are all vaccinated, the DCs aren't yet.

TerribleZebra · 21/09/2021 14:16

One adult one child positive here and one adult one child negative after 13 days of Covid on our house.

AwFeebs · 22/09/2021 14:39

Hmm reckon we are all going to get it, sons just tested pos on a LFT. 😔

I have a friend who's a single mum, she had covid and neither of her 2 children had it despite not really being able to distance from them at all!

PermanentTemporary · 22/09/2021 15:46

First time around i had it and ds never did im pretty sure. This time we both have it, though tbh I think i caught it from him! That increase in transmissibiity for Delta makes it more likely.

I've felt like crap, ds has been not too bad. I shouldn't worry.

Mummybearsporridge · 22/09/2021 15:57

I had it in June. I didn't pass it on to any of my household (husband and 2 daughters). I also work in a school and didn't pass it on to any of them either.

Queenie8 · 22/09/2021 16:21

I had the reverse. Two DC tested positive and I tested positive 5 days later. I'm double jabbed and cev. I was hit hardest by covid and a week later after isolation still have awful fatigue and aches.
